anyone else use the internet as their doctor these days? it's almost my only source of medical aid. the information available from hundreds of websites, herbal, chinese, ayurvedic, homeopathic, science research, mecial help sites, pharmaceutical websites, anti-pharmaceutical sites, shamanic healers, reiki, on and on.... all blessings to the internet! |¬D
As useful as the internet is, it can't compaye to a doctor actually taking a look at you. That's the most accurate way to figure out what's wrong.
Internet medical info has led to plenty of "cyber-chondriacs", where people diagnose themselves with a much more serious disease then they already have The internet is damn useful for remedies and that though. Sore throat? Lemon, honey and water does it right up, seriously.
very true those "cyber-chondriacs" tend to have a love of web MD which lists like 25 potential ailments for one symptom lol I still use them anyway for treatments and things
heh, yeah, looking up medical books does the same. thats why i reccomend leaning towards more science of life than science of illness. (taken from a comparrison of ayurveda to "conventional western medicine") ... drs might be useful on the side. my latest medical issue... the info i got from the doc wasn't even 0.0001% of what i got from the net, and in the ommision of information, was actually in error! unecessary surgery reccomended! seriously, your own health n wellbeing n quality of life are too important to leave to anyone else. taking on the responsibility yourself is the only way to gain the freedom. and as much as you take the responsibility yourself, and it is your body that will be doing the healing, there's still a googleplex of resources available to us, be it in the form of other people cming ot our aid, angels, some piece of research info, having a good diaphram shake from laughing... whatever.. we have the support... its so easy to become aware and affirm that you are taking charge of your own wellbeing, and so risky and expensive to ignorantly leave your wellbeing in the hands of others.
Absolutely true, the average Dr. will give you a cursory examination at best, unless you present with unusual symptoms, in which case you've got to go see 5 more doctors before anyone will admit to any knowledge of your condition. And then the insurance companies will all second guess the treatments and amend, alter, or disregard the docs advice anyway. Your better off with a shaman, at least they will care about what happens to you, most docs are only worried about their next tee times.
Oddly enough, in my neighborhood, you can. Along with about every other type of homeopathic/ayurvedic/naturopathic/herbalistic healer out there. You gotta love California!
lol hook me up with some healing sites! I got checked from behind today in a hockey game, and my neck, spine and rib cage feel like they're being slowly twisted or altered. It's not fun, i'm telling you.
lol, yeah, it's what I did. Took some advil, sparked a bowl, and applied some Heet brand topical ointment. Worked fine for the night, but I was super stiff this morning.
