Hey guys! What's the situation in Seattle now? Are dispensaries open to anyone or is it too soon for that? Is it just safer to buy it on the street than it used to be? I'd love to be able to buy my first legal bud while I'm there. Also, I would love any suggestions for cool head shops in the area. Thanks!
You sound really young and that your ideals are misplaced. Had to get that out there. Anyway, I know a lot of counties changed it so that possession is nothing. As far as being able to purchase it in stores; it is not available yet and you will have to be 21.
No and no. And when you get home tell your friends Washington sucks and tell em to invade cali some more. Leave our little hidden gem alone.

Thanks for the info!
It's not technically legal there yet, and stores won't be opening until sometime late next year. Many counties have already stopped arresting people for marijuana possession though, and even dropped cases that were already pending.
I like how people in CO and WA are trying to tell people not to move there. Shut the hell up... selfish bastards..
Well, in their defense cannabis is a super rare plant and really hard to grow. Also keep in mind how densely those states are populated. They just can't spare the weed or the space even if people visit and go home. *written in the most densely populated state in the US*
The government has until December 2013 to create the framework for selling marijuana legally, but they can do it sooner if they choose. I know the governor has already met with the legislature to discuss it, but I have no clue if they are going to want to drag this out as long as possible. Colorado has until July 2013. Once sale is legal and licenses are getting issued, I imagine you'll see shops open pretty quick as they try to be the first to cash in on the demand.
lol, it's not rare or hard to grow. No offense eh . from wikipedia Cannabis Common hemp Conservation status Least Concern (IUCN 3.1) Scientific classification Kingdom: Plantae (unranked): Angiosperms (unranked): Eudicots (unranked): Rosids Order: Rosales Family: Cannabaceae Genus: Cannabis L. I hope theyre quick to open the shops. After it was legalized I searched all over to see when they would predict that shops would open, unfortunately the only thing I found that was Dec. 2014. Who knows though. Washinton has until Dec. 2013 to generate their laws and such.
You can't buy in a dispensary. EVER. unless you're medical. The state liquor board stores have until next year to start opening shops. so ur shit outta luck.
Fyi there is no crime in Washington state law regarding the purchase of cannabis. The related crimes are sale, cultivation, and previously, possession. Now that possession of small amounts has been legalized (as of next month officially, but king[where Seattle is], pierce, and at least a few other counties have already stated they will no longer be dealing with small time possession), you're free to consume cannabis legally provided you are over 21! The lcb has two years I think (at least one) to figure out how they're going to make everything work, so no storefront purchasing yet, but just walk up University Ave in stoner garb and you'll be golden .
You would be correct. For all my grumbling in other areas about my growing woes it is mostly just grousing because I hate having to choose between growing and the black market(which I can assure you is much rougher as an over mid 30s guy on the east coast than anywhere on the west coast). I think of growing not as much hard as an irritating pain. Like cleaning the toilet. When I see people hear talk about how horrible it is that they have to pay..$15 a gram or that they'll have to wait an hour or three while hanging out with their stoner friends before driving home or how their laws are not awesome enough I have to be sarcastic or I'll just snap. And when some stoners want to sit on their privilege like a dragon on a pile of gold it makes me even more crazy. Now if you will excuse me, I have to vape some fan leaves and try to figure out how to score some actual bud before dec 21( you know, the "end of the world")
A hidden gem does not simply have legalized marijuana
Never said it did. Northwest is a great place to live, plenty of others stuff besides dank.
