I'm in my low 30's, an when I was a kid headbanging was popular. Basically just kinda like an odd dance to some heavy metal music. Generally stoned, occasionally drunk, loud band, and teenage alpha male syndrome, having hair and ability to head-bang was a pretty token skill in the heavy metal communities? Do people today still ever headbang? And who on this site remembers this era
I've probably caused permanent neurological dysfunction with the amount of violent headbanging I did at shows between 15 and 17 years of age, when my hair was much longer than it is now. I literally can't do it any more. I'll be able to put out about five decent seconds before collapsing in skull-splitting agony.
Yes! Tons of people still headbang. I don't headbang nearly as much as I used to when I was younger. My hair used to be two feet long back then and it also screwed up my back and neck because of it. But when you are listening to the right tracks it's hard not to headbang.
My neck gets stiff and sore if I try to headbang with even the most minuscule effort. Must drink more milk.

Fuck yeah people still headbang. And that "hardcore dancing" is the most ridiculous thing ever seen live. I went to a metal concert once. Just a bunch of local bands. And I was expecting to have some fun in the pit. Only when I get there the pit is loaded with these seizure bandits. I instantly started laughing.

Headbangin' is still widely done in underground gigs and shows and mainstream gigs worldwide well simply put if you like the music(preferably thrashy or extreme metal) you headbang to it. Going to a Slayer or BBB show will solidify this fact haha. I mean how can one stop headbanging to this?
