Head Case

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by shawkner, Sep 20, 2009.

  1. This may be my first post on these forums, but I am a seasoned smoker. I have a concern that none of my friends/smoking buddies seem to share so I figured that maybe someone here would be able to share some insight. I've smoked almost daily for about 3 years now and I can no longer ignore the issues that bother me when i'm high. For one, I simply can not seem to build a tolerance. Maybe it has something to do with my 5'9 145 pound frame but no matter how many days in a row I smoke I seem to get high faster than the random chick smoking with me for only her third time. It really baffles me. Second, whenever I reach the peak of my high (5-10 minutes after my last bowl, j, whatever) my brain literally hurts. I often get these waves of pain in my head where it feels as if the blood is literally pulsing, pushing against my skull. After 10 or so minutes when I come down from my peak these feelings tend to drift away but they are scary nonetheless. Third is the duration of my high. I can hit 2 bowls off a bong at 2pm and be high until I go to bed. It's unreal and my friends often don't believe me when I tell them I'm still ripped. Fourth are the after effects. If I smoke on say sunday and do not smoke again for the rest of that week, i literally will have horrible short term memory the entire week. This has also lead to me not being able to remember a lot of my long-term memories and years have become a haze for me. I've just always felt like something was different with me. I love marijuana and I love the feeling it gives me but something has always felt off as if smoking is literally eating away at my brain. If anyone has experienced anything similar or has advice, please share.

  2. I have the same issue bro ( Wouldn't go so far as to call it a problem ) I get migraines too ( ocular ones as well, auras( going blind in an eye for minutes at a time) etc ) but since I've started smoking daily for the last month or so they've slowed down. just think about it this way, are the benefits worth the side effects? :smoke:

  3. id say only the head hurting symptom is an issue...the others are pluses in my book..my tolerance stays pretty low unless i smoke for a month straight which is usually impossible due to either money issues or not being able to find any herb..sometimes i notice when my high hits me my breathing increases quite a bit, which i believe is due to my heartrate increasing.but only lasts a few minutes till my breathing is normal..never had the headache problem though..as far as memories go yeah...ive noticed that theres lots of long term things i just cant remember anymore..not sure if thats tied to the herb though...sometimes i try a remember something and its like blank in my head...dont know if thats similar to your issue...but i highly doubt its tied to the herb..as far as herb im pretty sure it only effects short term and for only a short amount of time.

  4. Even if it's the only real issue, it's kind of a big issue that has really started to bother me because I feel like i'm doing serious damage to my brain.

  5. Here's my advice. Go to erowid.org. Once you are there, get to the cannabis area and take a look at the side effects and such. Get a solid handle on all of the clinical pros and cons of this incredibly interesting drug. Once you've got that (if not already) you can make informed choices about whether your side effects are beyond what is reasonable / acceptable.

If they are, depending on where you live and your age, perhaps you should speak with a qualified physician, they may be able to provide some insight.

That's my two cents on the matter.

  6. I'm not much help about the negative effects, but seriously, take it as a blessing that you don't have a tolerance. Everyone thinks you're "cooler" and "heavyweight" if you've got tolerance, but if you don't, all that happens in the end is that you have more weed and money than the guy who needs an eighth to get high...

  7. Yeah, well smoking pot kinda kills brain cells, so your pretty much bang on with the whole "eating away at your brain" thing. Take a break or something. Or just plain don't smoke as much weed as them.

I dont fucking understand what is wrong with people these days, theres a reason the word "No" was created. I'm not saying your a goof or anything, but, if your high, why get "high-er", you know what i mean? Why just cook yourself when instead you can just get reasonably high and enjoy yaself!:smoke:

  8. You're 100% it's just hard saying no in certain situation because you end up looking like a bitch.
