Hawaiian Haze - Much Mango Hydro Tent (PC Side Grow)

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Grow Journals' started by Hawaiian Haze, Feb 1, 2011.

  1. I just got a couple of tents in the mail. The smaller one measures 32"x32"x63" and the larger tent measures 48"x48"x78". They are pictured below (smaller one on the left)

I also have a mini PC grow in progress as well as a seperate 2'x2'x4' wooden grow box. The PC case has 2 2700k 17w Cfls and the wood box has 2 225 bulb Red/Blue LED panels with a few extra flors.

As of right now, I have cut two males from my PC and have two females about a week into flowering. The wood box has 12 plants in total and they are each only a couple of weeks old.

I made a cloner for my tents and have some tomato sprouts in it right now. i also have a few MJ sprouts in my wood box that I'm going to use instead of clones as I don't have a sutiable mother yet.

I'm going to be using the small tent for the first 2 or three months strictly for vegging and then move them into my larger tent to flower. I'm doing this because I'm going to be growing tomatoes in my larger tent for it's first run. They will both be DWC cultures as well.

What I eventually plan to do is convert my small tent into a mother dome and my wood box into a clone vegging box. Once the clones are big enough, they will be moved to the larger tent to flower.

Each tent houses a 125w CFL fixture. The smaller tent will be using a hydrofarm light set up while the larger tent will have a batwing reflector and bulb. I will be using techniflora nutrients throughout the whole procedure.

    So, my plan is:

    1. Rearrange wood box by turning it upright to make room for small tent.
    2. Flowering a few plants in my wood box to take clones from and move to small tent.
    3. Grow from seed while grow box is getting ready to flower.
    4. Grow tomatoes in large tent until I have plants that are big enough to move in to my large tent to flower.
    5. Once I have clones from my wood box, I will move them into the small tent and move the plants that are already growing in there to my large tent to flower.
    6. Develop the healthiest clone into a mother and keep her in the dome.
    7. Change my wood box into a clone developer and grow the clones until they are ready to move into the large tent. I figure each clone will get about 1 foot tall.

Here are a couple of pictures I have of my current set up:

  2. :wave:looks like you are off to a great start. you got your training down and everything looks healthy. only critique is i would take the plastic covers off the t5's for better light:smoke:

  3. Good looking pictures man. Can't wait to see an update.

  4. I leave the covers on to prevent burning and getting water on the bulbs.

EDIT: I'll have some pictures up tonight.

  5. I'd say you should only have one plant maximum in that pc grow box, and no more than 2-3 in the wooden box. Also, you need MUCH more light in the PC grow box, and you may want to get those bulbs a lot closer to the plants. As GrassHumper said, you definitely want to take the covers off of the T5s. The covers will deflect most of the usable light from getting to the plants. Even if the plant touches the flouro lights, it wont burn for a while... Also, water doesn't hurt them in light misting applications. There should never be a time when the bulbs have any more than a couple of droplets on them..

    Good Luck!

  6. Got a little update. I got both of the tents set up, but am waiting on a replacment bulb for my smaller one as the original one was broken upon arrival. I decided not to turn my box upright and was able to put the smaller tent next to the big one. I've still got some work to do in order to get them ready for MJ growing, but it will all be done in time. The large tent has some tommato sprouts and some rosemary in it at the time being. If you look closely, you'll see some warping in the large blue tote. I'm thinking about putting it inside of another tote of the same size to support it, does anyone think this will help? I'm strapped for cash, so I can't go buy an already reinforced one. I may duct tape the outer one to help hold it's shape as well. Like wrap the outside with it and create supporting tension.

The PC grow is doing great, although the ladies recently suffered from a little dehydration. It resulted in a little leaf burn, but hopefully it won't affect the buds. The pictures show what I'm talking about. They've stopped growing vertically and are bushing out very well. I'm hoping to be ready to harvest them by the end of the month, but am unsure that will be enough time. They went into flowering about 2 weeks ago.

I did some LST to the plants in the wooden box. Each plant has about 4 nodes, I aslo fimmed a few of them. I'm going to give them another week to veg and then put them into flowering as I only have two feet of vertical grow space.

The oblong tote on top of my wood box is my cloner. It's only got tomatoe sprouts in it atm, but it worked fine. Here are the the pictures:

PS. The ones in the red lights are the wood box ones.

  7. I can see those little flowers starting. Your shit is crazy looking man but it's working, that's for sure. Good luck and here's to some shweet buds.

  8. Thanks beanbag. I'm hoping to have a perpetual grow eventually. I might move my cloner into my box and use it to grow, but I don't know if 6 inches will be enough for the roots. =(
