Ok I baught one of those cheap digitel ballest off ebay 400w and three times now the light fail to come on at the right timme the light on the timer indicate's that power is there but nothing so if i unplug it for 5 minutes then plug it back in light come's on also if i unplug the light then replug it in it wont come back on unless i let it sit for a few minutes first so is this the curse of trying to save money lol should i just splurge for a ballest with a brand name? Thanks
Yeah I would suggest getting a Lumatek or a Phantom. They only cost about $130 here: Lumatek 400W Digital Ballast or Phantom 400W Digital Ballast

Hell yeah that was a killer deal man and a great setup! You are going to be stoked too. Those guys are pretty cool over at indoorgrowsource.com huh? Are you planning on growing in soil or going for hydro?
whats your guy'sm thaughts on the Nextgen ballest iv seen a 400/600 w ballest at my local shop incase i wanted mor light in futurehttp://www.randmsupply.com/images/link/instructions400w-600w.pdf
I would suggest a 600W dimmable ballast instead. These give you 3 power options that can be run from one 600W bulb rather than two options that would require another bulb to operate such as on the nextgen 400/600.
Hell yeah they were always there to answer all my questions really quick. I am gonna go with soil, I will be using FFOF. Any Tips/recomendations? Can I get good results with this setup? What is the most plants I can fit in here? I plan to grow in 3 gallon pots.
I don't mean to jack this thread, sorry dude, but I would put anywhere from 4-9 plants in there, depending on the characteristics of the strain. If they grow very bushy and wide, then fewer, if they grow tall and narrow, then more can fit.
When purchasing Yo-Yo light hangars make sure you get a pair that can handle the weight of your hood. My light hood weighs 28lbs so the cheaper Yo-Yo`s would not be enough since they were rated at 25lbs for the pair then your also adding a little bit of more weight when you attatch ducting to your hood.
