Looking for some kind of scientific water pipe, I want a beaker bottom. Can you guys give me some ideas? I'm looking at syn illidelph and hbg. Thanks!
If you want a beaker base you shouldn't waste your time buying anything over $200 with slide and downstem. Anything that costs more than that better be either worked or stemless. Things you'll want to consider about the tube are height, bore diameter, and glass thickness. As for a diffuser, you should get some type of showerhead, gridded if possible. And get a disk diffused slide, they're a lot better than regular push slides. If you're willing to get something other than a beaker, try googling sovereignty stemlines, efs donuts, stone glass works waffles, or maybe even syn showercaps. Look around and try to find something that you really really like before you drop a couple bills on it.
If you're spending $400, please get a stemless. I'd recommend an Apix Design tube I have a stemline Dan made, and I LOVE it
If you're looking for a beaker bottom and like Illadelph's stuff check out Pyrology. I have this tube, runs about $450-$500 depending where you go. You can get a shorter version with just the showerhead downstem and no perc for around ~$200-250. pyrologyglass.com
syn is the shit, im planning on getting one soon too. my advice though with that kind of spending money is 1. get a carbon filter, it will make cleaning it 100% easier. 2. iv had a beaker bottom for 2 years and although nice to have the downstem gets so dirty so fast, although i dont have a carbon filter for that one. syn 90 degree angle is what im looking at.
I can tell you, Itza is amazing, definitely worth getting. check out there website at itzaglassgallery. Im a proud owner of a single chamber showerhead, and a gridded showerhead A/C. Love them to death. On Aqua lab, theres some mobius tubes under 400. they have a stemless matrix up for 385, its a fucking work of art. good luck buddy, and post what you get when you get it!
I was looking at their gridded showerhead ashcatcher the other day. I was wondering if it added any drag? I saw a thread on GC where a member stated that their 2011 BC showerhead AC added noticeable drag to their tube. If I buy an ashcatcher for my stemline, I want it to be dragless. Thanks!
I've tried both an itza gridded circ a/c and a 2011 bc circ a/c and i gotta say that I liked the itza A/C more Now I just gotta get on trying a toro circ a/c to compare PS-anything gridded adds a teeny bit more drag. multiple smaller holes I guess? But the added diffusion is soo worth it
haha, im assuming that's a joke but I'm currently rolling with an itza mega gridded circ to braced gridded mega 8 and it's the smoothest tube I've ever hit (circs > trees...and.... gridded-circs > gridded-trees.....and... gridded circ = braced gridded tree) imho
Thanks man! It's not as much drag as a china tree-perc AC is it?
Who's ignorant? Oh yeah. That's still you.
There's some people on art fire that have a removable tube and they sell glycerine with a removable beaker base for 185
