Here is the deal. Have some experience at this but never grew Grand Daddy Purp before. While trimming I have noticed what looks to be alot of immature seed sacs. yet to find a seed but still confused if this plant is hermied. dont want to tear all the buds apart to find one. Hate to toss it cuz it smells awesome and HUGE buds. Can an expert or moderator eye give me some advice?? Please..
wouldnt worry...alot of the shit i get at the dispensaries have the little tiny flake inside the ovule. it is not a seed, b/c it was not pollinated, just the weak genes of the fem beans doing anything to seed out. The trick is to only breed out stock from very very strong mother fem beans with good genes.
Doesn't look hermie to me but that doesn't mean it isn't. That late into budding you won't be able to find the culprit pollinating sack because it's already beyond maturation, you would only be able to tell by seeds being in the bud. Pop whatever you think is a seed and see what comes out.
that is right. even if it is it hermied, it should not affect the end smoke quality other than the annoying seeds and a bit less potency. These fucking fem beans man, hermies everywhere, even in the dispensaries and the A quality buds...im sticking to reg beans and putting in the extra work, haste breeds waste.....
Thanks A-man - I popped @ 8 different sacks and there was nothing, was medicated and started to get freaked and depressed from my long time investment so I stopped and posted before I ripped the whole plant apart!
seriously, if you are trying to get 50 an eigth for it then worry, but if you are just looking to have good smoke dont. Do not fret, do not do anything different than if she was a 10 foot tall christmas tree with buds. Treat her perfect, for the end quality smoke will be fine and I dont want you to do anything negative with haste b/c you think your plant is worse off than it really is. That is why i always try to be a glass is half full, cuz i hate seeing people get all freaked out, it generally results in bad decision making...
