Has Capitalism Failed?

  1. Do you believe that capitalism has failed or is failing in it's current state? I'd like to know why you chose your answer, as well.
     
  2. We do not live under capitalist economic system. We live in a screwed up, put-into-practice version, which is synonymous with fascism.
     
  3. State capitalism is always doomed to fail.
     
  4. Crony-Capitalism has failed, true, free-market capitalism has yet to be given a chance. When the corporations and government are allowed to work hand in hand for a hundred years, bad things happen.
     
  5. Absolutly not! Free market capitalism is not perfect but its the best system we have.
     
  6. I dunno about the "ism" part, but capital always wins.

    I want it. You want it. He wants it. She wants it and we all know why.

    If you are an individual in the world who is against capital, please give all your capital to me. I will take good care of it and you can go and live at my whim. I'll be nice, I promise.
     
  7. No, and certainly not as frequently or violently as planned economies fail.

  9. Eh hard question to answer; obfuscated by semantics. What we have is certianly failing, but I also have a hard time calling our system capitalism. I voted Yes because in its current state it is in fact a total and complete failure. I have good feelings about 'state capitalism' being nothing but a memory one day.

  11. No. If one is on the side of taking the money in, especially in today's economy, one might say that capitalism is doing quite well. If one is not on that side of the equation they might have a different answer.

    Sure "seems" like it might be failing but there's still plenty of money to be made in a free market and this US economy. Just gotta find the niche problem to provide a solution for or the niche service to provide. Same as always really.

We have 100% fiat currency, FDIC backed fractional reserves, artificial interest rates, mandates, subsidies, regulations.... if anyone says capitalism is doing well they're ignorant of the definition. Capitalism was murdered by the Fed in 1913, skull fucked in 1933, and cremated in 1971.

    I looked at your avatar; If you don't support capitalism then how can you support single moms who happens to be a stripper? In reality, socialism/communist/fascism does not support any of prostitution, stripper is one of them.
     
  18. I voted yes assuming you consider the system we live in now is capitalism(which I do not believe it is). Whatever you call it I believe our current system is flawed and has failed. When you allow the exploitation of natural resources for profit that only a few benefit from, that's in my mind, when you know there is a problem.
     
  19. obviously you lack appropriate knowledge about socialism, most of today's leftist theorists support legalization of prostitution, lowscale gambling and soft drugs. And why the hell did you pair communism/socialism with fascism? Fascism is complete opposite of communism. Looks like you need to hit the books. :p
     
  20. Fascism and communism are not complete opposites. There are obvious similarities between the two ideologies (planned economies, coercive government, etc.).
