Hi, so, this is my absolute first time doing anything growing related. I needed some advice. So, currently here is my set up: I have two plants that I bought from a respectable dispensary in my area. They're supposed to be White Widow plants. They were about a foot tall and I just wanted to throw them directly into flowering. I used regular potting soil, plus 15-30-15 blooming fertilizer I got from Home depot. My lighting set up are cfl 46 watt bulbs right next to each part of the plant where it can bloom (Gives off 2700K each). I also have a 30x magnifier for analyzing when to harvest. If I want to feel more of a sativa-y high, considering I just started the flowering cycle 1 day ago, about when should I expect to harvest? I did a quick google search which informed me about 60ish days, but I have less than ideal lighting conditions so I was wondering how that might affect it.
The amount of light you deliver to your plant does not effect the duration of the flowering cycle in any appreciable way. For all practical purposes, the duration of the flowering cycle is fixed. What that exact duration is varies by plant variety, by strain. The amount of light you deliver to your plant does impact the size of the buds in a big way. Assuming the delivery of adequate air, water and nutrients, the amount of light delivered determines the rate of bud growth. Since the flowering time is fixed, the rate of bud growth will determine how much bud you get. I don't mean to imply that the quantity of light is the only factor in bud growth. The genetics of the plant places a limit on how much bud will grow, as do the quality, quantity and even delivery mechanisms used for air, water and nutrients. But light is certainly a primary factor and a limiting factor. Good luck with your grow.
