Harvesting Question

  1. Alright so my question is rather simple but I havent been able to find an answer to it yet. After harvesting your weed is it possible to 're-use' the same plant again? like an apple tree, you take care of it and you take your apples but in the future it will continue to produce more apples. very basic example i know but im just wondering.

after cutting your herb can you re-use what remains to create a new harvest?

  2. Yes you can reveg a plant then harvest her again. I don't know the exact method but I believe you just need a few of the fan leaves after the harvest then put it back in the 12-12 cycle for a while and then back to your veg times. Look up reveging on here you can find it

  3. i dont think weed is an annual plant that does dormant in the winter, and reflowers in the summer, i could be wrong i guess it depends if u r growing in doors or out and if your growing out doors i guess it would depend on where in the world that u are, if u dont have harsh winters i would say it MIGHT be possible, but i wouldnt bet on it

    good question tho.

Maybe u could try to create an annual strain of weed that comes back!!!

boy thatd put alot of seed banks outta business, lol!!!

  4. I know it's possible but that's about as far as my knowledge goes. It's called regeneration. I think basically you put it back to a 24/0 light schedule after you harvest and reveg it for a while and you can get 2 or 3 harvests out of it.

Generally I think it's not worth it though, I'm not sure why. It's much more common to see people keep a mother plant in veg and never flower her, and take clones and use those to flower.

Like I said though, I'm not too sure on the details.

  5. I got the impression that he was talking about leaving the plant out side and just watching it come back to life after, it dies in the summer kinda like a out side sea of green, thats what he was talking about when he was referring to the apple tree, i dont think he had any pruning or anything in mind seeing as u dont have to do that to an apple tree!!!

  6. haha the apple tree was just a realllly basic example to try to help explain my question since i am bad at explaining things, i guess it didnt help at all :smoking::smoking:

my question restated: After harvesting your bud in an indoor grow setup, meaning that you have cut the stem and leaves and everything, could you with proper lighting/watering etc etc (but not massive amounts of work) continue to use the same plant for future harvests?

  7. Copied from another site.

After the buds are harvested, you may realize just how much you want to perpetuate a plant you neglected to take cuttings from. Cut the main stalk down to the point where below several growth tips or buds are remaining. Return the plant to a vegetative fertilizer and photoperiod. Over the next several weeks, the plant will elongate and devlop new upward growth. It is very important not to overwater the plant after it has been cut back. The reduced above ground plant structure is still being fed by the entire existing root system, which can cause an excessive amount of water uptake and the resultant stress associated. The use of products containing ammonium form nitrogen, such as chicken manure or Genesis Formula Grow 2 will encourage rapid growth and stem elongation. Trace element supplemenation, co2 and 24 hour lighting are helpful.

I have also read that it is helpful to repot your plant. When transplanting, cut 20% of the root mass off with a sharp, sterile knife. this will help with the water uptake problem. All this is useless unless you spend the time, energy and money on proper temperatures, nutrients and ventilation.

  8. I have revegged some of my girls in the past just do a search as I found the guide I used on here. I agree that it is best to re-pot but I didn't trim any roots, just moved her into a bigger pot with some fresh soil around the roots.

You can reveg a plant 2-3 times and Ive heard of people doing it 10 times +. I leave the bottom 3rd of the plant, buds and leaves to. Then just give her a veggy light cycle and veggy nutes. They grow back wild and bushy as if they have been LST'd.

I have also taken clones in very late flowering and revegged them.

    Good luck

  9. This is true I forgot to include that into my post.. Thanks for the reminder dude.

  10. Weed is an annual plant - outside, it sprouts in the spring and dies in the autumn, setting seed for next year.
