Ive been growing some great smelling mids. Im about 9 1/2 too 10 weeks into flowering. I been using 2x22 watt cfls in a 20 gallon rubber maid. My question is when to harvest with out the use of a 30x jewelers loop too lookat the thrichombes, wanna keep this a free grow. Ive just been growing it with bottled water since seedling and its been doing good. The buds are triching up nicely and most the hairs are orange probally about 75%. Can you tell when to harvest by the amout of hairs turning orange? I know the best way is to use the jewelers loop.no $$ I have pictures in my PG the plant is about 8 weeks in the pics. thanks
I have harvested via this 70%:30% ratio for many years and have gotten some great smokes over the years. Some strains make it difficult to go by hair change ratio so in that case you can go by alive hairs to dead/shriveled up/ripe hairs ratio instead. P.S. I almost forgot to tell you how Gorgeous those plants look. Congrats and enjoy.
