Harvest question

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Username3333, Aug 29, 2021.

  1. I have two plants and on one of them,[IMG]
some of the pistils have browned while others have not. Should I wait until the entire plant is ready before harvest or cut off the colas that are ready and keep the rest of the plant growing?[IMG]

That bud may have dark pistols but it doesn't look ready. A jeweler's loop or microscope is needed to check trichomes that's the only way to tell when they are ready. As for the question either or it's up to you. Either choice doesn't make a difference concerning the plant or bud.

You'll want to look at the calyx not sugar leaves, sugar leaves ripen sooner than the bud

  4. When the time comes you can do a staggered harvest if the trichomes aren't ready lower down the plant. Do yourself a favor and buy a pocket scope, usb cam or like item, snip a tiny piece of bud (not leafs) and check out those trichomes.

  5. It is ok to cut the top off a plant . Then let the bottom of it continue to flower for another week or two .
Scope it out and continue the process

  6. Possibly 2-3 more weeks.

  7. Nah once you get some experience, you can just tell when they are ready.

  8. Until someone gains the experience one must the tools to get it right. It can take a grower more than a few crops to get the harvest time dialed in.
Beginners can excel when they are using to correct tools.

  9. UPDATE:

6 weeks and 4 days into flower. Still some clear trichomes and a few with brownish resin. Don’t really see any cloudy ones. Still some white pistols, too. Maybe another week?

  10. Do we know the strain? Photo or Auto? The calyxes will really swell up when you are close. The bulk of the weight comes during the last couple of weeks. From what I can see, I think you may need another 2-3 weeks.

  11. No- I don’t know what they are… they are photos. .. Bag seed. It’s my first attempt. Couple more weeks, huh? That’s more in line with what I expected. 7.5 weeks did seem soon. I’ll keep watching them.

  12. Yeah 2-3 more weeks.

  13. Keep a close eye on em those pistols will retract a bit towards the bud and you will see the difference. IMG_3106.JPG
