.i have heard of the fat tuesday rituals somewhat, but why is this day signifigant. Is it a religious deal, or some other thing..
I just use it as an excuse to party. However, it is the day before Ash Wednesday (to the Catholics, and maybe other Christian religions), which starts Lent. Lent is the 40 days before Easter, and it signified the 40 days and nights that Jesus spent in the desert. You're not supposed to eat meat on friday and you should give something up for the duration. As a test of my faith, I gave up Catholicism for Lent around four years ago, and am still going strong. Peace out.
