Harvest is just a few days away. We have amber trichomes! Sent from my SM-G975U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
My first successful organic hydroponics harvest !! Its time to clean the system and get ready for another grow. These buds remind me of a Dark Devil strain I grew last year. I got them in the dry rack now. Sent from my SM-G975U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Next up is a late 60s, early 70s hybrid called Monkey Paw. I got it from a good friend who got a clone from the original mother plant in Michigan. Shes Acapulco and Columbian Gold crossed with Afghan. Its been a while since I've grown a photo so here we go ! I had to transplant her from soil to hydro, she just bounced back this morning. I threw both monkey paw clones in the 4x2 and will be flipping to 12/12 here in a week or 2. While servicing my reservoir today I realized that the fish have been breeding. There are ton of fish now. Water tests are showing the water is doing great. Sent from my SM-G975U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Monkey paws are now on 12/12. I'm not trying to grow monsters just having fun with this little 4x2 tent. the aquaculture has caught up to the live soil plant and is probably going to get way bigger now that shes got a ton of roots. This will be a nice little organic side by side comparison for me. Sent from my SM-G975U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
The aquaculture has taken the lead in growth, however the live soil monkey Paw is flowering faster. More hairs/pistals. Sent from my SM-G975U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I’d do anything to get my hands on Monkey Paw. That’s the one strain Pops talks about even though he hasn’t smoked in like 10-12 years lol good shit bro!!!
Its cool stuff bro, I got lucky to find a guy who has a mother plant. Here are the two clones as of today. We are full on flowering now . Sent from my SM-G975U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I increased the fish density to keep the plant healthier than the last one. I've doubled the amount of fish in the hopes of giving the plant more nutes. I can definitely tell this second grow is alot better and the tank is established i just need some more nitrates. This plant is 3 times the size of the last one already and no issues with deficiencies. I've been watering the 1 gal live soil with the fish water and she loves it. In case anyone's wondering, a 4x2 tent will hold around 17 gallons of water . I came home to a noisy filter pump and flopping fish. All was saved, I ended up trimming the roots, I had a blockage due to massive roots and the water just started overflowing through the media bed above the res. Had that happen a few weeks ago with my reverse osmosis res. I accidentally left the pump plugged in and it drained about 20 gallons of water onto the floor at 11pm on a Tuesday night. Luckily I put a pond liner down when I switched to hydro. The feeling when you know something is running that’s not supposed to be, open the door and think “f**k where do I even start”. Wife was less than impressed Glad everything was saved
Pond liners are great, saved my ass in the grow closet with my RDWC system once before. Sent from my SM-G975U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
The Ladies are really fattening up ! This has been a fun side by side comparison between live soil and organic hydroponics. Sent from my SM-G975U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Just about ready for harvest. I'm still deciding if I want to clip them this week or wait one more week. Starting to see amber trichomes, mostly milky at the moment. The live soil is looking good, the aquaculture has some minor foxtailing and im guessing thats from the all the nitrogen the fish put off. Cheers!
