  1. Mmmm, those are some sexy girls you've got there.

  2. Man great looking bud bone! I tell ya I'm happy to see that shit with CFL's since I'm committed to finishing my grow with them LOL

Seriously though, sexy buds man, I know you ready for them to be smokable!

  3. Thanks guys, I was scared for a while after the ph debacle. But she is still putting out new pistils, and the calyxes are swelling, some up to 1/4 inch wide. I am also seeing some purplish hues to the newest bud growth, which I first thought was necrosis and tripped out. But when pistils shot out of the purply calyxes, I knew everything was fine.

  4. If I knew cheap chinese flourescents would grow weed like this, I would have been doing it for a long time. Seriously, I never grew because of heat, and expense, and it blows my mind that for 40 bucks you can grow a lovely pot plant. Actually, it was more than that, but you certainly can get started on that much.

  5. Man, I don't know how I missed this, but it's looking good! I love the Autos in this phase because they pack on so much weight everyday, it's almost unbelievable. I'm always glad to seen another Auto grower using CFL's and makin' them work out so well. Any thoughts or expectations on yield?

I know what you mean about the 250w HPS though. I've got one left over from my very first grow 4 years ago, and haven't been able to use it because of some of the same reasons as you. To think how much my plant would love it if I could though.....

I'm gonna stick with this one for the next few weeks and watch you wrap it up, I think you're gonna be happy. Thanks for stopping by my journal, hope to see you over there again.

Thanks Kayak, honestly, your first auto grow was my inspiration, she was a doll! As far as yield, I think my first grow yielded about an oz or so, I hope to double that. It certainly looks like I can get 2 oz total. I might be overly optimistic.

  7. 2 oz's is a good goal. I'd like to say that's my goal, but I like to underestimate so that IF it ends up being more that what I thought, I'm one exctied person. I shot for 28g's last round, and ended up with about 36g, I think. So my new goal is 45g, 50 would be awesome :smoke:. You're using about 100 more watts than I am, so I think you'll hit that mark, it'll be interesting to see where we each end up though.

  8. Day 62

I am growing impatient, The amber trichomes are beginning to show up, but not in a great number. Most trichomes are solidly cloudy. I am still trimming off foliage, I want to pick up a postal scale, I want to know what I get this time instead of guessing. How much do you guys think I will get?? Here is some mature midget fetish bud porn!!!

dude.. BE PATIENT (like me ;))... The plant is supposed to take 70+ days... so give it the full time. People often don't like autos because they harvest too early (I bet you would think your girl is ready for the chop if you weren't looking at trichs!). Aim for 50/50 trichs amber/cloudy if you want a strong high with good amount of couchlook. That will offer a very balanced high of racey and couchlock. Also don't forget the last few weeks are when the most weight is packed on... so if you want max yield... BE PATIENT. IF you're desperate... take another nug and let her dry so you have some smoke in the meantime. You don't have to chop the entire plant down... maybe just take a branch (but not too many!) Good luck!!!

  10. BTW... Hambo and Kayak... How many watts are you guys using? I am about to spruce up my LED grow with a whole load more CFL wattage (it's turning into more of a CFL grow than LED!). I tried out my HPS yesterday and immediately got heat issues. I was gutted. I love HPS... but... I don't think I'll ever be able to use it again realistically. Just not practical for where I live. I need to master these CFLs and LED :).

  11. I know I'm not either of those guys but I'm pretty sure bone is at about 260watts. It defintely says somewhere further back in the journal.

I'm using 300 on 4 plants which is pushing the rule to the max.

General rule for CFL, minium 100W (actual) per plant with 50w per additional plant.

the more you can get in there with heat/space issues the better, CFLs have crap penetration so if you've got space get some side lights in there too.

Bone does a great job of wrapping his round the plant. I wish we had those y joints in the uk!

  12. Thanks for the pep talk, guys! If I can't take it anymore, I will take a bud, but I don't want to waste my weed by smoking it prematurely. As far as my wattage, I am using 278 watts, with 54w of it being daylight, and the rest softwhite. I think Kayak uses less than 200, but has great success with it. Even the buds down low, within the leaves are getting fat and crystally, and even bulking up, so I guess I am getting decent penetration. It helps that my baby only got 17 inches tall, the buds basically go from the top to the very bottom of the plant.

  13. No worries, it must be hell, I can't imagine looking at big fat buds everyday and not being able to schmoke some. I love the look of them already and they'be got another 52 days to go!

Wasn't a bad guess on wattage. I think I'm going to have to so some adjustment to get penetration in my box, it's ended up as a screenless SCroG in there.

Does mean I've got 20 odd even heighted colas though :hello:

She's looking great, I'll be fascinated on the yield as that's the main complaint with the dwarves. If you get an 2oz on one plant then I'll def be looking into them!

Just out of curiosity what space h x w x d is you plant (and pot) taking up?

  14. Yessir, that's a good lookin' plant you got yerself. From the looks of it, I'd say 2oz is a good possibility. Keep trimming those leaves up before they shrivel up into the bud and you'll be golden, she's look D-A-N-K!

    Flippa
I'm using between 178-204w's depending on how cold it is out side. Right now I've got 204, but if it gets into the high 60's or so, I take out one of the 42w bulbs and put in a 26w to bring the temps down.

  15. Going to the doctor today, I think I might have the swine flu. I'm coughing my head off, and I'm irritable because I can't smoke. At least I won't be tempted to chop her, I know I can't smoke her dank ass without puking up a lung.

Cool shit... thanks for the info guys. I am going hybrid for the final 3 plants. At the moment I have 112w spread around the tent on 6 auto plants.. covering each quadrant/plant evenly. Now bear in mind I have a 100w High Power LED on top of that (A v expensive one!) which will yield on its own. However, this light isn't yielding enough on it's own and your CFL setups are doing better than my light on its own. I wasn't intending on adding so many CFLs but I now also plan on bringing in a 125w EcoLight on top of all the CFLs I've been adding recentlty.. bringing total wattage of CFLs to 237w. My Plants will be going down in number to 3-4 in next 2-3 weeks... and by end of month I'll be down to 3 (2 waves of autoflower harvest). So the final 3 are going to get what sounds like a perfect coverage. I'll have about 15600 Lumens on them with an additional ??lumens from the Procyon 100 (meant to match a 400HPS but you can't measure lumens on LED... I will tell you this... it vegs like a 250w HPS... BUT certainly doesn't flower like that on it's own). I'm hazarding a guess on the lower side the light intensity of LED will roughly be about 10000 Lumens (But really it ought to be far higher... and closer to at least a 150-250w HPS... about 15000-28000lumens). So that means I should have a shit load of lumens (I reckon 25000+) on those last 3 plants. Enough CFL lights on their own to do ok.. with the additional LED to offer hopefully some real oomph. The LED is truly excellent for veg growth. It's a shame I'm not convinced about it's flower potential. With the setup I am moving towards though... I will hit loads of lumens with no heat problems :) (my ruck fan carbon filter setup can deal with a lot of heat no probs since my Secret Jardin DR60 tent is a small tent - highly recommend). Music to my ears.

So... I'm joining all you CFL crew... wish me luck!! (Oh and I did try putting my HPS back in tent... I started toasting my plants :(... they fucking loved it though... I think the days of using my HPS are over... I just can't find the space to deal with heat anymore and headroom just becomes a real issue... Oh well... CFL (and LED) here I come :D

Sorry to hear you're not feeling good mate. I also have been feeling shite lately... not with swine flu though. Hope you feel better soon... and leave that plant alone ;).

PS hambo - Thought you thread deserves a 5star for helpfulness from you and people reading it. Inspiring stuff :D

  18. Good luck!! I just flipped my grow to 12/12 last Monday using 600watts (2 x 67w bulbs) CFL and they are loving it, no heat issues so far, and I plan to add a little daylight later today so I'll be inteh 700-800 watt range with CFLs. So you may want to wish me luck too LOL

Yeah take care of yourself and get better bone, you have some plants depending on you ;) Keep the images of fat home-grown buds in your mind, make that your happy place and you'll be fine...

    Good luck but..

I was just going to say be careful when considering your CFL watts. If you've got 2 x 68W bulbs then you have 136W not 600W. The 600 is equivalent Watts which while is accurate in terms of a comparsion with incandescent bulbs it's not a true wattage.

Bone and myself etc are talking about actual watts, I have 10 x 30W bulbs which would be 1500W incandescent.

Just be sure you get those girls enough light!

  20. Thanks for the kind words guys, I spent hours at the doctor's, waiting.... Turns out I have bronchitis and an ear infection. But I am on some goddamn expensive antibiotics. My insurance covered 45 dollars of it, but I still spent 65 on the pills, they better work!! I came home and my baby has all sorts of new pistil growth, I was astonished....and pleased!
