Hairs going red while drying

  1. I've harvested by now something like 4 batches of plants.

I've noticed that pretty much always, the hairs keep turning red after the harvest and while drying. At the end of the drying all hairs are red, this happens every time for me.

I think I'm harvesting at the right time. Something like 50% red 50% white and sometimes 66% red 33% white, but I always have all red by the end of the drying.

Is this good/bad/natural? Anything I'm doing wrong?

  2. While many do use "hairs" as an indication that the plants are maturing, I think what you want to do to see if it's harvest time is look at the trichromes, or the resin glands (crystals). They start clear, change to milky, then cloudy, and finally amber. Depending on the type of high you want, you harvest when they're more milky/cloudy for a head buzz (more energetic/less tired) and more amber for a "couch-lock" buzz (name says it all - go to the couch with your chips and remote). This is a general guideline - individual results may vary.
