Every grow room needs water filteration. Our plants hate Chlorine and many other things found in manicipal water and ground wells around the country. I personally use Body Glove | Store no I don't work for them. Yes I am an old surfer dude. I really like the vibe of the whole company. but my point is if your growing in good soil and Not hydroponicly. you don't need RO (reverse osmosis) water. In my opinion RO water leaches nutes due to the fact that it is so devoid of anything. If you are growing hydro you are adding nutes and balanceing PH constantly. So RO is better for hydro because it allows to detremine TDS (total dissolved solids)with out testing the water. RO = effectivly 0 tds. Unless you get your water from a rural underground spring that is a long way from any farming or industrial area. then you are a candidate for water filteration.
Seems a bit pricey for just a sediment/carbon filter. And slow flow as well. For just sediment filtration and chlorine removal, perhaps try one of these: Hydro Logic Small Boy De-chlorinator & Sediment Filter - a little faster (1 gpm) and 1/5 of the price or Hydro Logic Tall Boy De-chlorinator & Sediment Filter - almost 3 times faster flow and 1/3 of the price. or Hydro Logic Big Boy - 7 GPM - About the same price but almost ten times the flow rate.
I guess those are better than nothing but they don't seem to filter down to 5 microns. this removes most metals and VOC's (mtbe) and is rated to remove cryptosperidum and other bio issues
The point of this thread is not who has the best filter just the fact that they are important. I use the body glove because it protects my drinking water when the river floods the waste treatment. (happens every other winter it seems)
