If you have updates, post 'em here.

  2. That's my vote!!!

  3. No one representing Kentucky supports this bill. Why am I not surprised?

It says sponsored by Barney Frank, but he's gone. Does that change anything?

  4. It's funny that you pointed that out! I was looking for that particular name too. :devious:

Oh, Barney Frank was a great man to have on our side. I nearly cried when he announced his retirement. And then I got angry! We've lost two great ones this year. Frank retired, and political activist Gatewood Galbraith died.

This bill has been sitting in the house subcommittee since last year. It's probably going to die there because the committee on energy and commerce is too afraid to touch it, and that cocksucker Lamar Smith who heads the committee on the judiciary won't even consider granting it a hearing.....he will not even discuss it.

In fact, multiple petitions were made, which he ignored outright. When letters and phone calls started pouring into his office, he had his office's phones forwarded to an answering service that stated the office was closed before hanging up. When protestors showed up outside, he attempted to have them arrested for tresspassing, even though they were on public property. And when his official facebook was flooded with posts concerning the bill, he first took it offline, then deleted all wall posts about the bill, then brought it back online with the ability to leave wall comments turned off. That guy is a Grade A bag of monkey shit. Same prick who tried to pass SOPA. This is definitely one guy that needs to be removed from office, if for no other reason than ignoring his constituents and not doing his fuckin' job.

Lamar Smith: Out of Touch on Marijuana Legalization

What probably needs to happen at this point is what's known as a discharge petition, which overrides the subcommittee and forces a bill onto the house floor anyways. That tends to make a lot of congressmen butt-hurt though. Discharge petition - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I actually wrote to NORML about that a month or two ago. Got a response saying it was interesting and that they'd forward it on to their legal guys or whatever...never heard anything after that.

  7. 0 <-------- Here's an update. Lamar Smith needs to be pushed out of the way.

  8. what is marihuana? is that the same as marijuana

why do they keep refering too it as marihuana?

  9. There isn't a rep from Ga representing the bill either. That is what happens when ignorant people get elected by ignorant people.

Read the wiki. It's not a public petition, it has to be done in Congress by Congressmen. Originally signatures to the petition were secret until after....now it's all out in the open throughout the entire process. Since that change, almost no one will sign one because it pisses off and embarrasses the leadership.

You'd have to get no less than 218 representatives to sign it. Just to put things into perspective, between 1931 and 2003, 563 such petitions were filed, and only 47 ever got the number of signatures required. Of those, the House only voted to discharge 26.

  16. North Carolina needs to get the fuck on board, so much for separation of church and state...

  17. no suprise to see no one from louisiana up there. fuckin douchebags run this state along with our sell out of a governor

  18. Get involved!

  19. We all toss in a few buck's, hire an accident specialist to cure Lamar Smith's views. If that was done on a routine basis a lot of these phara pimps will cease to hinder progress.

  20. Yay tx is up there woot!
