  1. I wouldn’t use windex on guitar finishes.
    The ammonia could damage them.
A very dilute mixture of Murphy’s oil soap and water is nice and mild @RBGene

    Sweet Gretsch resonator too!

  5. Thanks man! My wife just bought it for me for my birthday. She was always pissed because I sold the one I had 13 years ago and I always put off buying another one because I switched to mainly playing electrics. But after a life of punk rock I’m ok with turning it down some.

took advantage of guitar centers 6mo no interest promo and picked up this epi traditional 4. i originally went in to take a look at the gibson tributes but this epi actually felt better, played better (except the rough frets) and sounded better with the treble bleed caps. i can take or leave the coil splits on anything.

  9. Sorry for the shitty picture. I need to clean it up and get some new pickups. Does anybody know any good brands? I was thinking Seymour Duncan or should I look at something else?

  11. trying out a new gig rig. i usually run that mx5 through a fender twin, well that shits heavy. started running the mx5 directly to the FOH pa but i just missed the presence of the amp. this 100w pedal baby is a very very happy medium and i can plug it into anyones cab. also its pretty cheap. just ask musiciansfriend rep for a promo discount and they will usually hook you up.

  14. 253850099_1996224180530741_4549962910253015874_n.jpg moved my bigger amps back downstars into my basement as winter approaches my need to get loud grows with each temp drop.

got my supro blues king 12 speaker bypassed and plugged the v30 2x12 cab into it. 15w does an ok job but i was in the middle of a jam with a buddy and really felt like my p90s needed a different kinda amp.

shred one for the lost homie in the back.

  15. Thats some gear :)
I am on the market for my first electric guitar. I have been playing acoustics for some time. I want and need the rock sound of electrics.. have been looking at second hand guitars. Have been Reading up on the cheap ones (yamaha pacifica, epiphone, squier and gretsch)

Do you have recommendations? I dont have too much money for it

  16. i have a range of cheap $120 epiphones to expensive american made ones. ill tell you the truth, after $1200 the differences become subtle.

check out some pawn shops and look for some used epiphone les paul standards or some squire strats. you can find them for cheap used all around. id spend most of your budget on a better amp, like an orange crush 20w or a fender champion 600. both can be found for under $150.

we can make the cheap guitar sound great but we really cant do that for the amp.

  17. Thanks for the solid advice. :) i am also more interested in rock metal and ...soul? Than blues and such...if it matters

  18. I’m kinda close in that line. I play punk and old skinhead ska. So we both need a rig that can produce aggressive mids along with clear defined highs.
Epiphone Les Paul (the red one in the pics above cost me $499 new $300 used) and an orange crush 30w to pair. Orange has a nice clean channel but their gain/dirty channel was really made for doom and sludge.

  19. Yes. I see it stands next to a gibson. Which one do you play the most? I checked out second hand market local for guitar and amps. Found a orange crush 35w
