Guitar playing while high better or worse?

  1. Do you play better or worse or is there no affect? Myself I play better well I think anyway.

  2. i tend to not neccesarily play 'better' but im much more creative on it. I like to go back to the riffs i made the next day and expand on them, thats when ive made some of my best stuff i think.

  3. Exactly what mike said. I tend to play piano as well when I am high, lot's of creative chord stuff.

  4. "better" is a pretty ambiguous word.. what doesn better mean?

when i'm high, i play with more soul but if i'm too high i can't play for shit
i can play faster (or at least perceive it that way) when i'm blazed BUT i don't exactly know where i am on the fretboard, i could confuse the 5th fret with 7th and even the 3rd if i'm high enough.. yes, it feels better playing the guitar high, but it isn't "better" on its own, it has its downs, like the day after i'll forget what i played..

  5. I think I play my best after 3 pints...I cramp when I'm stoned. Still can play, but not too fast. I get good ideas, though

  6. Worse. Way worse.

  7. Just get a tape recorder and record it all and listen to it the next day or even a video camera.

What I mean by better for me is cleaner like whem im sober my chords sometimes get chucky and twangy but when im high its all jsut smooth playin.

  8. Well in that case it's the total opposite for me. I get cramped and slobby. Doesn't happen after I get some beer

  9. Like everyone else said, technically less proficient, but much more creative.

  10. hmm, i'm more technically proficient and much more creative but I have to find the exact right dose, can't be baked, but gotta be high.. find that dosage and know your body and mind

  11. Hey,

it depends on the dose. I voted no difference, but it just depends on how you refer to "better" as others have already said. I am much more creative when I got a high going. Oddly enough, when I am totally baked I have a mad addiction to practice my arpeggios, scales, and modes for very long periods of time. When I'm wanting to create new music, I cannot be that high, however. Peace.

  12. been around alot of pickers, some can toke and jam, and some cain't,lol

some got to, to get loose, some go to shit!! :smoke:

  13. Hell, a lot better. I'm usually good but when im high, i'm xtra good, i love it. I can go on forever, no pain.

  14. uhh, pain? why should you be hurting when you play the guitar?

  15. How many great guitarists smoked pot? Or were stoned while playing? They just go together for the most part. Of course, it all depends on the person in question. I find I play better after a good joint.

  16. Often I play real well after a few drinks, although I have been almost incapable of playing because of too much alcohol

  17. yeah i definately get a lot worse, real sloppy and slow

  18. i find that technically, im really bad since i dont pay attention to what im playing, im just jamming along with the music when im stoned.
however, if i concentrate hard enough, ill say that my playing gets a lot better when im high, much more creative and my note arrangement gets better.
