First cfl grow went well 7 Plants, 6 ounces.....cool Now the time has come to step it up! I have a room 8ft by 6 ft. I would like to have a veg chamber and a flowering chamber. How much room should I dedicate to each? 1/2 and 1/2? Would i be able to keep my mother plant and my clones in the same chamber? Lighting will be 2 hps bulbs, 250 watt for the veg chamber, and a 500 for the flowering chamber. I will prob add some CFL's for some extra lighting in the flowering chamber. The rooms will be ventilated with intake vents for fresh air and outtake to remove the excess heat. I will be growing in soil. Prob Foxfarm Ocean forest. My previous grow I used 5 gallon buckets for the flowering stage, but I don't know if that was overkill or not. If I am vegging my clones for approx 30 days, are the 5 gallon buckets overkill or necessary. Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated, I will prob update with more questions as they arrise
Alright, you've got a lot on your plate, but seem to have a good idea of what's going on. -I would suggest 2/5 of the area for veg, 3/5 for flowering. As you know, once induced into flowering, the plants will take off in size. -Personally, I would seperate the clones from the mother for no other reason than organization. But yes, there should be nothing wrong with keeping them in the same chamber as long as you're talking about them both being in veg. -The bucket size should be fine. If you've got it, flaunt it. Your plants will thank you for it, but I would consider vegging longer if you have that much available soil. -500w- I think you will need some sort of ballist (sp) or power converter for that system. I'm not particularly familiar with high power lighting, but I'm sure someone on these boards will have your answer. Take care bud, good luck with your grow!
You won't have any problems plugging the two 250 ballasts into a 15A wall socket. 5-gallon buckets is what the pros love, so you can't go wrong with them. Expect to double your yeild using the HID lamps. Make sure you can cool the new lamps.
I have like 20, 26 watt cfl bulbs and fixtures and was wanting to use them to run the veg chamber instead of a 250 watt hps. Anyone know the effects of growing under Cfl's for the Veg stage and then swithcing to a HPS system for the flowering stage. Do you think this would stress the plants when the time came to change rooms?
