Looks like some sort of insect cacoon. Not sure that is the right word, but you get my drift. Egg maybe.
Those are squash bug eggs. Typically found on squash plants but can be found on other plants as well. They can kill young plants so kill em first. Sevin should kill em good.

true all that matters . He had a lot of good veggies . Just half lol over run by bugs disease. He dont care though .
