Guerrila Holes

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Portuguese, Aug 1, 2012.

  1. Hello guys.

What do you reccomend for the size of the holes?

I'm thinking about 30 cm diameter and 3 feet deep.

I'm currently looking for the soil, but I have to see how many L's of soil I will need for each hole. Can you help me? :p

  2. The bigger the better really. I'm really unsure why you're mixing the cm and feet. The hole should probably be equally wide as it is deep. Marijuana roots will spread laterally quicker.

After that, just estimate the size of the hole, find a volume calculator online and go from there.

  3. Thank you, but what measures do you recommend?
I'm new at guerilla so I need some tips..

  4. Eh. It depends how much soil you want to buy. I'd personally go with something about a cubic yard all in all. So Basically a 3x3x3 foot hole if I were to do it. Then again, it's a bit late in the season in the northern hemisphere to be starting.

You could do something smaller and have good results I'd suspect. Something like... 3 feet wide and about a foot to two feet deep would suffice.

  5. It's not for this season, I'm already planning next season. Yes I know that sounds ridiculous :p:p

All I want to do is make a nice hole, because the surronding soil is too "Thuff", and I don't wanna suffocate the roots

    Sorry for that english meh

  6. i dug 3 2x2s out which was super hard work in clay.then i brought in 6 bags of soil

  7. I really dont know what measures to use

  8. No, it sounds correct .. +rep. wish more new posters/members here planned as well

  9. "OP's Digging Techniques 2: DRY AREAS (even with clay): Make a bigger hole (2-3') without the mound at the bottom and use a water retaining mix (peat + dirt). A bigger hole will keep the water longer than a small one. Make a perimeter wall with dirt around the hole (on the surface) to keep the water (+ rain water) for the plant, as done for trees. "

When he says 2-3' , what measure he is using? I mean ( foot, m, cm) I have some difficult to understand that

  10. ' = feet

    " = inches

I've read 2 feet down is enough, but you should really go wider. I think 3' wide and 2' deep sounds good.

  11. ^^good advice^^

  12. Thank you guys.
Just one more thing is missing.
For the soil I'l be using All-Mix ( still need to calculate how many bags I will need).

But the question is, I've been reading that on seedling I shouldn't use all-mix, he said I only should use some dirt with worm castings.
    Is that good information?
