Ok so I am planning on buying one of these grow tents, I have a 1000W HPS/MH with an EasyCool 6 reflector. I was looking at getting the GrowLab 120L which is 7'11" x 3'11" x 6'7" is a single 1000W good enough for this grow tent? I see some sites recommend 2 x 600W HID lighting but is 1 1000w HID enough?
That tent might be a lil long for a single 1000w to get the coverage u want. 2 400w would work. Or put you 1000w on a light mover or if you're planting in seperate containers u can just rotate them every couple days. The wattage is definitly good for u to produce some dank buds, I was more talkin about gettin the light distributed evenly so each plant will get optimal level of light everywhere. No, that's really the only fall back, the price. If you're around your growroom often u could just get the track without the motor or just move your plants around everyday, if they're in seperate pots. U would think they wouldve dropped the price on those light movers by now, they've been around long enough and the damn price is the same as it was 5yrs ago. U can just buy another light for that price!!! Sorry I couldn't be more help
Great answers, would 2 1000w be too much for this tent as long as they where all in aircooled hoods with ducts and duct fans?
I mean there's no such thing as to much light, but in that small a tent I think you're gonna run into cooling issues. Don't get me wrong it's not a small tent but two 1000 watters is some serious heat. The recommended area for 1000w hps is 4'x4', depending on your hood. Now some hoods r designed to produce a rectangular footprint, I'm not sure about your hood but u can plug it in and see. Is your hood brand new? Just askin because maybe u can return it and get one better suited for your needs. Personally I think 2 1000w is to much, you're using twice the electricity and I know u can produce some of the finest, tightest, dankest buds you'll ever want with 1000w in around that same area because that's what I'm rockin!! I built the size of my flowering room around the light I chose, but I don't have a tent.
Well thanks for the good info! I think I'll stick with a single 1000w for now and see how I do no need to go all out right away.
