    if you buy an 8th of mersh and you get 3 seeds can you take those seeds and grow them or do you have to get mature seeds?

    You can try to grow them, depends on how good the seeds are.

    Yeah, although you have no real way of telling if they're female or not untill the grow, they also have to be 'ripe' for want of a better word.
