I found a dealer that does pretty good deals on 4' 6bulb t5 lighting for 125$ do you guys have any opinions on t5s do they get the job done yield wise. I don't have the money for HID lighting right now the bulbs would be 6500k veg and 3000k bloom.
I've grown under T5s and had excellent results. It takes a little more minding the tent than HIDs do but the lesser heat and electric bills are pretty nice. Things that I found with T5 - it only grows well pretty much under the light...a couple inches off to the sides..but not really even to the ends. You need to keep the light close...like couple inches kind of close and make sure that you tend the height often enough so the leaves don't touch. Eventually, you may want to try PAR light bulbs but the veg and bloom bulbs will work well.
Nice thank you for your input! right now I'm growing in a 4x4x7' tent with just CFls I was thinking I could have the t5's above and like 4 33w CFls around under the canopy!
