I'm using a total of 18 100W CF L's for 12 plants. I am using the "True Color" CF L's. These CF L's simulate the daylight sun with all color spectrum's. My question is, should i add more Blue spectrum lights? Also, where can i get strictly blue spectrum lights from? Im just starting so i am in the Veg stage. Thanks Everybody!
Pretty sure true color and daylight are the same thing.... but Daylight CFLs or Full spectrum (depends on the packaging) have blue spectrum...MH lights also operate in blue spectrum but your not using HID so that doesnt really matter
Ok so then i should just stay with the 18 CF L's that i have. No need to waste money on more lights if i dont have too. LOL I just got my license yesterday so im pretty excited. BTW, your plants look great. I hope mine turn out like that!
Theres nothing wrong with that....some people would say that since you are running so many watts you might as well switch to HID...but you can stay with CFL's if you like...however for the flowering cycle you have to switch to soft white
check the base of your bulb they should say 2700k-6500k the higher the number the more blue spectrum lower is more red for flowering i did a "experience" grow with cfls and it turned out pretty good.
So should i switch them all to soft white or do a mixture? What does switching to soft white do? And what would happen if i didnt switch?
Thanks for the advice! i need as much as possible since i am new! My buddy uses CFL and his turned out great also.
Soft white CFLs operate in the red spectrum which is way better for growing bud....you can do a mixture if you like a lot of people seem to wanna do that....you could use daylight CFL's the whole way through flowering on a 12/12 cycle but Im guessing your yield would be less (cant say for sure since Ive never done it) http://forum.grasscity.com/general-indoor-growing/122824-kamels-cfl-guide.html
