its only three inches tall i planted it from seed about two weeks ago. with a little T5 lamp that came off a little plastic fishtank. now i have it set up in a closit with two T8 17watt lamps in a 2 foot strip light thats hung about 3 inches, a GE 42 watt 2700 lumin bulb in a shop light on one side and the T5 on the other side. its ben about two days and i t really has not done mutch i know the light it started with wasnt really enogh because the plant is streched a littlebit but other than that it looks healthy theres a fan on it the temp is like 75 so what the fuck?
have a little patients my friend.. give it love.. talk to it..hehe... the light you have which is 2700 i think is not that good for it when its in veg.. but wait for the real experts to give you advise as i'm still learning myself even though i've been growin a year already.. .. also it depends on what strain your growing i think.... blabber blabber blabber... sorry i'm baked
be patient, the top part may not be growing much right now,,, but it's root-network is establishing itself,,,,, when it starts growing it;s going to take off,,,,, .
although i dont think your lighting is the best, it should be ok at this stage but i would recomend some better lighting down the line, some more info is needed tho before i could help determine if theres even a problem, for instance whats your growing medium, what are you useing as a p;anter, nutes, ect.,................peace
the soil i planted it in is supposed to feed for up to nine months, (i planted it before i found your site,) the soil looked pretty old too is it too early too transplant?
Feeds up to 9 months really means kills weed dead. The lights you are using should be good for early sprouting and vegging. As an earlier poster took note, you will need more light down the line, when it takes off it could stretch for the low lumens.(good time to lst<---read the sticky).I would recommend getting some CFL swirlies at around 6500k for vegging(or a MH hid)..throw about 5 of them at her.For flower just switch out to something close to 2700k(or a nice hps hid)..a little research will make sense of all that.As for the soil, I feel you will have to transplant.I went thru this with 9 seedlings, had to clean down to the roots and transplant.(I dont recommend this).I lost 3 in that operation.Or you could flush the soil to hell and back.GL..get some pics for us, for some reason,I dont know why, stoners lover to see pics of herbs.
But i know its alittle early for that and i found these on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/3-BLOOM-3-GROW-...ryZ42225QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. you said two use 5 but you think three will be good? ill get pics soon
More light is a good thing for your plants (when using CFL's I don't think you have to worry about bleaching them). I tried growing with only 46 watts (two 6500K daylight CFL's during veg), and the plants grew very, very slowly, and produced small leaves and didn't branch very much. Eventually I caught on and doubled the light, and they took off! You can see my journal for more details, but the point I'm making is that you can get away with 3 CFL's as long as you've got enough wattage coming out to not starve the plants, but more light will mean better growing. -Edit- P.S. You can get the same kind of light for much cheaper at a hardware store, or even a retail place like Target.
I have two 23 watt cfl daylight lights and a double fluro unsure of the wattage on that. Is that enough??
The rule of thumb is about 100 watts/plant. But like I said, you can grow with less, easily. But the more light you give the bigger and better the plants will be. That sounds like enough light to me, although adding more wouldn't hurt if you wanted to.
Cheers for that bro. Yeah I wanna go grab another 23w. But i have no sockets to put it in..Although I just ordered a cheap as hell desktop lamp i can chuck it in.
