One of my plants seems to be growing more leaves than bud. I made a thread before about taking leaves off of a flowering plants buds, I ended up doing that to one of my plants. Now my plant seems to have basically gone back into veg and started growing leaves instead of more buds. After seeing this I really don't recommend anyone pull off the leaves on their buds. Am I wrong, is there any other reason this might happen? I also have used vegetative nutrients on it so would that make a difference as well? or at least exacerbate the problem?
Plants need leaves to live...photosynthesis can't happen without leaves. Without photosynthesis plants cant live. Therefore must grow leaves to grow buds? Let's see a pic or link to your journal Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
So it's definitely the plucking of the bud leaves then, I was just hoping that my friend wasn't retarded cause he's been growing for years. Unfortunately I can't take his advice easily anymore After this... Do you know when it might start growing buds again? I hope not when the leaves are as big as they used to be cause that's taking a while. Im surprised it didn't hermie.
Is your light schedule 12/12 without any light leaks? Sounds like you were already reverting back to veg before you cut leaves off. Maybe you are feeding too much nitrogen? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Could be too much nitrogen indeed. Flowering requires none or close to none. If the buds were growing ok I wouldn't have worried too much. I have 4 very healthy plants almost halfway through flowering. I'm getting new growth, fresh fans and bud leaves daily. The buds however, are doubling in size almost every other day. But if your buds stopped growing, then you definitely have other issues...either lighting, temperature, flowering nute missing or lock, ph off, or some sort of deficiency. So is it nitrogen or leaf plucking? How does it sound like it was growing leaves beforehand? I didn't provide enough information to make that assumption. I could definitely say that I have been feeding it too much nitrogen but it didn't start happening until after I plucked the leaves. The light schedule is on a timer I'm sure it's fine. No light leaks, I fixed any chance of minor light leaks possible. So definitely get blooming nutes right? So you think it will be fine in the end? Will the buds grow when the leaves are done growing?
Yeah I'm a little too embarrassed to post any pics lol. I'll just get some flowering nutes and see how it goes. I barely smoke anymore so for a 2nd grow (not even) this is acceptable and will be corrected in the next trial. Thanks everyone for the help and anymore advice would be appreciated!
everythings back on track. the leaves grew back sufficiently and ive fed it twice with Dyna Gro Bloom so far in these past weeks. the buds seem like they are starting a new layer...weird... but interesting. maybe a new grow style lol not holding my breath. im just glad its still chuggin. thx errabahdy
I gave the plant to my friend and he is taking care of it. Its doing great, growing fat buds and crystals. I am curious myself to see the outcome of it. Leaves on buds on buds? Gonna be something else that's for sure! Sent from my KFFOWI using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Don't give up my plant stretch is from my light being too far away im at 84 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity is at 66
It's small on purpose, ugly cause it's my 1st real indoor grow. Sent from my LGL33L using Grasscity Forum mobile app
