growing laterally?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by 2030250, Jan 5, 2013.

  1. just wondering if it would be beneficial to put your light source on the walls of the room (surrounding the plant) so that the leaves would be facing out from the main stem. I was thinking this would allow for the leaves to get more light because other leaves wouldn't be blocking it. Another similar idea would be to flip to plant on it's side (once it gets too bushy) with lighting from the top so that the plant would be growing laterally, would these ideas work or would it just be a failure?

  2. The plant would sense gravity and look for the light, so the leaves would shade one side. Then, the branches facing the floor would stretch looking for light. You can get the most out of lighting with Low Stress Training(LST)

  3. what about lights surrounding the plant?

  4. Then you could grow them upright, and surround the plant with lights. Which is done frequently when using CFLs because they don't have good light penetration

  5. oh thats cool
