I’m from Sonora, Mexico. (south of Arizona), I believe the heat is too much for my plants, the lowest it gets is about 30º C in the night, I can get a good soil and nutrients for my plants and been planning my first grow for a time nos but the heat is what keeps me from doing it. Any advice to regulate my plants climate? I can’t grow indoors because I dont have the budget to do it but i have a few m2 of land where i could grow Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Check out Dr mingle's desert grow. Dr M, an old timer in the California desert accomplishes grows in Desert Hot Springs. The old man can teach you a thing or two I promise. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk
Mulch mulch mulch with thick layers (6” to 8”) of old leaves and old hay. Keep adding more throughout the grow. This will prevent evaporation and from having to water as often which can leech nutrients from the soil. Dig deep holes and fill with a well prepared soil mix so that your roots can penetrate deep. edit: Google “Hugelkultr “ and implement this into your grow. j
So Cal Growers Unite Several of us in Southern California in the same brutal summer heat. We get it done and so can you. BNW
Growing among other plants and having a shade cloth can lower the immediate air temps around the leaves and having mulch keeps the roots cool.
I was going to suggest BNW^^^^^ Mexico is legal grow now? I’m not sure but all of the comments above are good. I’m in the south US and use shade/mulch a lot.
I know Mexico made sweeping changes but to be honest I haven't followed the details like personal growing. Jerry has it right with plenty of mulch to retain moisture. If you really can't keep them from taking damage then sun shade them in the hottest part of the day. It comes in several grades of "Shade" and go with the minimum needed. Let them get all the morning and afternoon sun they can take as more direct sun the better everything does. BNW
Drip irrigation and genetics that can handle hot environments like these for example: Moroccan Beldia Kif Standard Lebanese Standard.Rich CBD Lebanese landrace sativa. ACE Seeds IDK about shade though, it can help with the temp but you dont really want to block the light. We grow crops in the desert in Israel without shade.
