Discussion in 'Marijuana News' started by 1tokeovrtheline, Jan 28, 2010.

  1. My friend and I have been planning on moving to CA or CA, california or Canada. I'm pushing for california cuz we will be safer, but then my other friend decided to go up to calgary, alberta for college. now we're talking aboot getting a small house up there and growing, so anyone who has any advice on laws, attitudes, etc please advise, thanks.

  2. I used to live in Calgary and it is about medium for marijuana tolerance. There are worse places but Calgary is not really a pro-pot city. It is a really conservative town and people love alcohol but will criticize you for smoking pot. I'm generalizing here of course but that is the general mood. I did meet a lot of cool stoners in Calgary, its a big city. You'd be much better off in California if cannabis tolerance is what you are after, or BC.

  3. Calgary is a great city. Lived there for 18 years, and am going back in a few months once I'm done uni. What size of operation are you guys looking to run? The size of your operation is going to really determine how much of a target you will be. There are tons of people growing though, and the general attitude towards marijuana isn't all that bad. There is a great hydroponics store there called Quick Grow. Really good people...good store, too.

Is your friend going to University of Calgary? What area of the city are you looking to live in?

  4. I don't know where he's thinking about going, some dj school thing cus he's all into that dj stuff (mostly house music I think, idk he gets pissed if you call it techno lol). I really have no idea where I'd live there, haven't looked that far into it. I'm talking about a big operation, right now I have a veg box and a flowering box w. two plants each, super stealth cuz in my state one seedling will get you a minimum of one year, I think if you produce a pound or have a pound thats ten years or something, idk its really harsh cuz everyone here is a redneck-if you drink you're awesome, if you toke you're pathetic, you need to start going to church, hunt, fish, chew tobacky and drink jack daniels:rolleyes:.

But nah, I'm working on a degree in horticulture, planning to go into the closest to medicinal horticultural plant breeding as I can, but that's pretty specified eh, so really I'm planning on doing something pretty big for plant breeding, which requires ideally as many plants as you can handle. In bc I've heard 500 plants will only get you two years, is that true?! that would be pretty awesome since I'm facing similar charges for four plants here.

If you're planning on running a big op bc is the best place to be. A member on icmag just got busted a while back for something like 150 plants in Vancouver, and all they did was cut them down and leave. I'm not sure what sort legal implications exist if you get caught and you are American. You may want to look into that..
