Growing in a new spot

  1. Hi, iv decided that i want to try growing some place new since last years grow (first grow) didnt work. Iv picked a spot in the woods and im sure its ok but i just need a secoud opinion. Its a small circle with 1 tree in it and has a buch of small woody plants in it. My problem is that the tree in it is kinda tall but its not in the way of the sun rising and setting. Will this hurt my plants since in like mid day they would be kindof shaded? I should shave the tree right? Also if I remember right iv been told that small plants are a sign of good light and good soil, am I right?

  2. Yes, small plants are a good sign of light. Your plant needs 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. Think about that before you cut down any trees. You'll probably want to use your own soil, in a hole, mixed with perlite to start your plants off though. You'll have a much better plant than if you just planted in random soil.
