growing 2 plants under insufficient light

Discussion in 'Micro Grows' started by plastikboy, Apr 11, 2014.

  1. My seeds are not feminised and and want to have a harvest ready by summer so i was wondering...
could i grow 2 plants under 125w cfl till I can sex them , and then kill the male or the worse looking female (if im lucky to get 2) or if im really unlucky kill both males... then after ive sexed them continue to grow the single plant with all the light?
would it better for yield and potency just grow one plant from the beginning?

  2. You can... But remember its the veg state that gives ur yield.

Its a tough choice, if you grow just one you run the risk of getting male and wasting months of time or lower watts per plant.

I'd personally go with growing multiple and just keeping all females around, I'd favor the stronger but I wouldnt just give up on some bud just to take care of one plant

  3. Gotta up the wattage if you want it to be worthwhile (crop wise)

  4. yeah it is a tough choice, And i cant up the wattage , if  I get 20g (or more) for my first grow ill be delighted

I would grow them both, sex them and keep both females given the choice. You will easily yield 20g. 30g shouldn't be a problem. I have grown plants under 125w CFLs many times. I use three for vegging, and the odd auto flower now and then. They work well

  6. alright so squezzing a 2nd plant in will boost the yeild , fair enough ill do that then, but mightnt it reduce potency?

  7. lol no.

2 plants in 1 pot might get rootbound though. But has been working out so far for me.

  8. I meant squeeze them into the box not into one pot

  9. oh ok. Well even more so then, why the hell would the potency be reduced because of 2 plants instead of 1 :)

  10. Nah man, you can rock 2 plants under 125 watts. I've used around 92 Watts on 2 plants before. Right now I have 3 under 199 that are flowering...

Two will likely increase the yield, but not by much. They will get half the light each but you will have a bigger canopy from two as opposed to just one so more light can be absorbed. Potency will be the same unless you totally balls the grow up or the health of the plants is really low

  12. alright thanks ppl , just gonna grow what survives

  13. I got 6 seedlings under 6 26w 3700k CFLs and 1 55w 3700k 3900 lumen cfl, going to add more sometime this week.

  14. That's the maddest pot selection I have seen, all you need now is a shoe and a hat lol. The seedlings don't seem to mind though, they look good

  15. Double your wattage and double your yield
