quick question...anyone used a Growbright 6" inline duct fan to cool a reflector? i know it's just a cheap inline fan, and hasn't nearly the power of other fans/blowers/etc... but i just remembered i had it laying around, so it'd be nice if i'd be able to use it rather than buy another fan ( as i was planning to do before i found it). also- i'm talking about cooling a 250 watt hid. maybe i should also mention that i intend to use this inline fan to cool the reflector, but also employ a nicer centrifugal blower as exhaust (coupled with filter). so the cheap fan would only have to cool the light down...if it's up to it. thanks in advance for any help!
Depends on the size of room. I plan on using the same one for my grow cab. They are pretty Legit fans. They are almost 450cfm. I am using one to cool reflector and get rid of smell thru a carbon Filter. You should be ok. More info on those fans at htg supply.
sorry, i must not have been specific enough. the fan you're talking about is the "high velocity" model...the one i'm referring to is simply their inline duct fan. and you guessed it, i bought it from htg supply. i will be using one of the higher velocity sorts of fans for my exhaust (with carbon filter), but i'm hoping to be able to effectively use the inline duct fan just for cooling the hood. edit: here i was speaking to "rentalgrower"... then "bohbo" snuck in before i could finish typing. haha although you're definitely welcome in this thread
ok cool, thanks for your input. i really figured it'd probably do the trick, but was compelled to double check with others so as to avoid any hot surprises. see, it'll be another couple months before i'll be able to get this particular grow set up, but i'm already obsessing over the details.
would a 250 cfm inline booster fan be enough to cool a 600w cool tube setup. that is with a centrifugal fan pulling through filter to cool room
