Hey guys Quick update on my plants so far.. 2 weeks and 3 days old Total 10 planted seeds (7 have been repotted into slightly bigger pots where these will be the starting pots instead of the cups on my next grow FYI) Changed light cycle from 18/6 to 20/4 to add more growth (2) 20W florescents (good for 3 plants in the bigger pots i've realized) (3) CFL's (had to add these back in when they all couldnt fit under the florescents until i get another fixture. Plus the plants kept stretching) I know my lighting for veg. is inadiqute. Im gonna return those florescents, buy another fixture, and then buy 4 40W tubes which should do the trick. Humidity is high (65%) but i havent seen any problems in growth at all because of it. Temps at a steady 71 degrees. My little injured one its got a twisted leafe Check my wiring skillage..looks a little hectic but it works and its safe til i get my C25 INPUT/COMMENTS Welcome!
They look good, my friends are exactly the same age, but he used fluros and the wrong type of soil. His are only two inches tall, Heres his to compare:
Word thanks for the compare i've been looking for pics to see what they look like at my stage. If i put them up to my nose you can get a hint of weed smell. Its great
heres mine, 2 wks 3 days today also. i use 150wt cfl, scotts soil, water every other day, mine are short- 5" and bushy oh yeah, has been 24/0 since germ. wondering when i should switch to 18/6, was gonna do at 3 wks, or should i wait till 4?
Everyones plants look good, especially yours Romain. sublikwid, your plants seem to be showing some heat stress. How hot in your room there?
oh, i thought that meant they were just perky and lively. temp checks at 83, thats not to bad. i've had my cfl almost touching the leaves, that may be why. i raised them about 6" above. gonna do the epsom spray as soon as i can run to the store to buy some.
Thanks man Yeah i just got my C25 today w00t w00t! I started setting it up but had to come back home and do some homework so i'll finish and put the plants in there new home later tonight. More pics. to come (including the cab. and progress etc..) Still going strong
It is heat stress NOT water stress. The leaves are curling over themselves at the edges. I have circled it in red.
thx dood, so i moved the lights to about 8" away. before they were almost touching. i've been spraying w/ epsom, but not much results yet. they have been under 24/0 for the past 3 wks, since germ. they went into 18/6 last night for the first time. havent done any nutes yet, when should i, wait until sex is shown or sooner?
My friends have started to do the same thing, here they are at 2 1/2 weeks. They are only about 3 inches tall. Theyve had light 24/0 with fluros about 2 inches away. Temps have only been at 80, no higher. Hes thinking of switching to 18/6 soon. Here are some pics, hard to tell but the leaves are starting to fold down at the tips, and are folding up along the viens. Seems to be very clustered together, leaves dont have room to spread out, What do you guys think?
I had a young plant that had folded and messed up leaves just like yours, Once it got a little bigger it seemed to go. She still looks nice and green so i dont think you should be stressing.. also what are you planning to flower under? HPS im hoping
Depends how big you want your plant.. just remember the plants WILL shoot for the roof early in flowering. Just remember your plant can grow up to 70% AFTER flower! (I think 70% but i cant remember... allow for it anyways.
Sorry if i was thread hijacking, just thought id post here since my pics were here a while ago and people could compare. Mine dont look to good huh?
Well i wanna maximize yield for the grow room so as big as they can get without running into any problems. Im gonna see how they look around a foot tall, cause i have about 4.5-5ft for growing.
Stop spraying with Epsom; not necessary. Move the lights back down to 3 inches above; 8 inches is too far. If the temperature in the room itself is too hot, distance from the light is irrelevant. I would start to feed the plants at half strength fertilizer now.
ok, i'll feed them when lights come back on. man, i hope my plant survives the stem break last night, all the fan leaves are gone, so now all the littler under ones can get some light i guess. its a tiny closet, i have a fan in there, only two plants are growing at this time. thanks for the info
