Grow Tent Ventilation Question!

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by TMNToker, Sep 22, 2011.

  1. Evening, GC. My grow tent is in the mail and should be here within the week and I have a question before buying the rest of my equipment..

I'm PRETTY sure that the tent will have 4" duct holes. I have a 6" Can Fan Max lined up that I would like to use on low for noise reduction. I also have a choice of either a 4"x20" or a 6"x16" Phat Filter, both are around the same price. If the tent indeed has 4" holes, would I be better off getting a 4" fan and filter, or 6" fan and filter? Having everything 4" would have the least cfm reduction, but having the bigger fan on low would reduce noise, and I wouldn't need to upgrade if I ended up needing more ventilation or I get a bigger, hotter setup.

    So what do I do??
keep everything at 4" or use 6" fan and filter and a reducer to duct through the 4" vent hole??

  2. 6" man all the way

  3. Stay with the 6". Don't make the same mistake I did. Heat could be a problem and the bigger fan could prove necessary.
