Grow Space Too Hot & Dry? PROBLEM SOLVED

  1. OK so after a while of browsing the internet looking for in-expensive ways to humidify and cool a small, or stealth grow bow. I stumbled upon a cool little gadget so I purchased it, I grow in a tunnel style closet upstairs, so for me running a ventilation system cost well over $400....

    I found this:

its a mini-humidifier/cooler taht runs on 4 "C" batteries. my temps went down and there is a much more humid, more pleasant climate in my growbox.

It was something like $35 on eBay
    just search for "Mini Humidifier"

    CHEERS! :smoking:

  2. CHEERS just what iam looking for

  3. looks good does it simply blow air through water ,any ideas on how like a wick or something

  4. That's encouraging, it would be helpful to know a few more details -- temps before/after, humidity readings before/after, closet dimensions, lighting you are using, ventilation, etc.

  5. I dunno, i like to keep my grow as dry as possible the whole way through, it forces the roots to draw more moisture up, which draws more nutes up, which promotes growth , my plants drink 5 gal in 3 days right now (only 3!) the growth is fun to watch :)

  6. ok the way it works is inside theres a cloth ribon which absorbs the water stretching it in front of a fan, the air blows out rather cool i must say.

I am using one of these in a 4x3x2 grow box and I dont have a thermometer so I couldnt tell you the exact difference, but now I can leave my closet door closed all day and open it at night to a fresh breathe of air :p

  7. i just got 1, they are called a "kool-down" personal a/c. my grow room is 4w X 9l X 9h, & i had a 12v d/c w/ variable volt settings on it, that i use w/ the kool-down. my d/c adapter has volt settings of: 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, & 12, & the kool-down has 2 speeds low (3volts), & high (6vots). so its like a speed control for it, so if its on low, i got: .75, 1.5, 2.25, 3, 3.75, 4.5, & 6 volt settings, & on high i got: 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, & 12 volts. so w/ these different settings i can control the speed of the fan, which i found works best if you partially freeze or put ice in the water which brings my temps down by 4-6 degrees, & raises my humidity by 10-15%
