grow room size

  1. hello all

    in a 3' wide x 3' deep x 6' tall box would a 600 watt hps light be enough and how many plants would fit in there comfortably?
     
  2. 600 would definately be good for that space, just need proper ventilation.

    As for plants, depends on pot size. Good rule of thumb is 1 gallon per foot sooooo.. you could use about a 3 gal or even a 5 gal depending on the size of the HPS ballast and whether its inside the box or not.

  3. id make it bigger if you plan on walking around them.

    3-6plants depending on size.

    exhaust and airflow is most important when using hid lights..
     

  4. ah sorry i know this is an old post but you so long as the plants are in a 3x3 footprint you can make a box thats say 4x4 and the light will still be efficient..meaning it will be just as effective with lighting as if it were a 3x3?
