Grow room set up/ light choice

    I've definitely got the weed growing bug. In a short amount of time I went from a 4x4 area in the corner of my garage to down stairs den. I've sectioned off one area for 12/12 cycle that is about 8x12. The other area is more open and is about 12x14. All has 8 ft ceilings. I did all of the setup before finding this amazing community. I also have 4 lights. 3 are LEDs (bestiva 4000 model) which draws about 450watts or close to. I have one 600watt HPS type hood light I got from a private seller in a package deal. I'm not really looking to grow for $ but I'm pretty open to growing large quantities at a time so I can take summers off. I'm planning on building it in Little bits here and there because I'm not rich but I got a little to play with. So let's say at the moment I got about $2k to work with, what would you do first? I'm currently using soil but I have some aero stuff I can tinker with to get a better idea but not quite there. I'm sure most of you that have some time under their belts are tired of talking lights so it can really be anything that would be helpful to add, not just lights. Once again I'm probably good with were my experience is right now but I plan on a quick learning curve by being able to grow more at a time and I generally learn pretty quick. I'm not a big fan of wasting money so any help would be great.

    My 5x5 tent with a 1000w HPS gives me everything i need for the year in one grow.

    20 gallon soil pots. This grow I reused the soil from the previous grow because I was unable to mix fresh pots at the time. IMG_8445.JPG

    So what type of time line, roughly, does it take you start to finish and what kind of yield do you get? Looks beautiful.

    $2k = a mini-split a/c system and a Quest dehumidifier. Start there. Then get a water chiller.

    The 4 plant grow was around 22 weeks because of the long veg. The grow after it was more like 18 weeks. I probably wont ever do 4 big plants again because it was an extra 3-4 wees of veg and training, much easier to just plant more seeds. You should be able to expect at least a gram per watt under HPS light using good quality potting soil.
