Hey everyone, I have finally decided to start growing indoors, I have 25 lowryder seeds and I am going to plant them all in soil. I dont want to have to go through all the trouble of venting the room so I guess flurecent is the only way to go? I found these lights here. Are those lights over priced? How many of those 2 light sets would I need for 25 low ryders? Do you guys know of any cheaper lighting systems I can get online that are good? Thank you.
yes those are crazily over priced! those are $10 bulbs max, and $15 reflectors... MAX to let you know 25 lowriders is a whole lot, idk about growing em all at the same time. one of those lights per plant would be best, you could prolly grow 2 under each...
I dont have to be stealth about the grow in any way. What kind of lights would be good for 25 low ryders?
well im growing 5 -7 plants in a cab with 400w light MH/HPS lol and that is hoping they come out all to be females.

25 plants, id say 2 1000 watt HPS or 3 600's good vented 1000's run $600, a dual 600 is 600... unless youve got plenty of cash to buy tons of lights, dont bother with 25 at a time. not only will you need an ungodly amount of light, but you will need tons of exhaust to get rid of the heat. Direwolf runs an air conditioner 24/7 for his 2 1000 watt hps's. also just starting all this stuff up will throw a red flag for the energy complany who often get paid by LEO's to provide that kinda info.
yo in reality it is really pointless to grow unless you are using atleast (1) 400 watt hps/mh deafeningsilances suggestion sounds even better i used to run (2) 400 watt hps lights and only had a fan in the room the lights were so cool i could hold my hand on the ballast thingy so temp isnt a big thing
i agree with the suggestion to not grow them all out unless you're planning on buying a couple lights. it takes a good bit of cash to get started. but if you're fairly successful you can make it back by turning 3 or 4 ozs.
Ive decided to go with 1 400w hps for the grow, I know nothing about that though, Any sugestions on a 400w hps light? Im not worried about electricity bills, I live in a 15,000+ square foot house, It wont make a dent in the bill. also, If Im growing in a unused bedroom with the 400w hps, will I need to vent? I plan on just having it sit in the bedroom not sectioned off or anything, probably in the center of the room so it doesnt burn the walls down if these hps lights are as hot as you guys say. Thanks
I bought a 400 w MH light from HTG Supply. They also give you a 400 w hps bulb. Its a combo setup and cost about 180. They had a cheaper model but it was refurbished so I went with the next one up. I think it has a 10 year warrantly? and 1 year on the bulbs. They are pretty cool and it was the cheapest I could find on the net. They also gave me a free lighter with my order.
same here i have a mh/hps digital 400w ballast. flouros near bottom for stem stregthening(SP?/). kool tube inline 6" duct fan for kool tube. and dayton blower with carbon filter in a c13 knock cab. from homedepot.2 6" holes for passive vent at the bottom of cab. hopefully i'll be feeding my babies right and all.. lol stay stoned hommies
so when you guys say "venting" what is that and how do you do it? If I have a couple fans on them is that fine enoufgh?
