Grow Light for Garden Veggies and Flowers

  1. Hey All,

My girlfriend's mother mentioned wanting to get a grow light to grow some plants over winter to put out in spring.

Since I don't be recommending the 600w MH/HPS with sufficient ventilation that I currently use, what are some good cheap grow lights?

  2. Amazon has some decent lights for less than $1 per watt.
Cannabis needs around 30 watts per sq ft.
But true wattage can sometime be hidden, so look carefully.
I follow lights a bit, just in case I need something.
Here are a few. I haven't used any of them, except for viparspectra which works well, and they are not the most fashionable, but they should work well if we can believe specs:

  3. Ive got basil and chives going under a spare viparspectra i dont use. Working well

  4. I just use 6000k led shop lights. You can get a 6 pack for next to nothing. Like $100.

I have a 4x2 folding table. 4, 1020 trays fit perfectly. I hung 5 shop lights so the entire table is lit up. I measured and getting 5 figures in lumens across the entire table. I’ve gotten great results!

Let me know if you want some pics to visualize.

  5. should mention that I grow all our flower bed flowers from seeds. Vinca. Pansies. Etc. about 75 plants a season.
