Grow journal Bag seeds

  1. Cuttings at day 14....they all rooted just fine...the 2nd from the right side in the front row has a damaged grow tip...it rooted, but may not make it unless it sends out a new shoot somewhere....I could have quite possibly did that myself when I was taking them, or sticking them....I got so many extras (only need 6), it doesnt matter....giving a buddy some too so he can try his own crop....I will still end up tossing some away....ALWAYS better to have too many....I had a puppy tear some up once when my ass was in the closet prunning....Sooner or later Murphy's law gets you with cuttings..For someone like myself, who depends on my cuttings for the next crop, would have to order more seeds and start all over if the cuttings get 'F'ed up....lots of lost time and lost genetics....Do AT LEAST double of what you need, even if your good at taking them....YT 20180711_160046.jpg

  2. Cpl pics...day 16 of flower....let the fun begin!!!....I love watching the transition into early flowering....I have learned over the years, that the transition into flower and the momentum of the plants during that time sets the stage for GOOD things to come.....sorry, but didnt get the close-ups before the light came on, but it shows what 16 days of 12/12 can do....there will be plenty more pics as they mature....the curly pistils on that one close-up, seems to be a trait of that strain...I grew it over a yr ago and they did the same thing....YT 20180712_195735.jpg 20180712_201050(1).jpg 20180712_201332(1).jpg

  3. Hey mike, I see you thread is down to about page 10....no updates on the flower box lately...hope they are ok?.....
Here's a few pics from about day 26 of flower.....they get a decent defol at day 21 which I found to be a great time to start fattening buds up....Then pretty much leave them alone after that except a leaf here and there...YT 20180722_074903~2.jpg 20180722_075143~2.jpg 20180722_075116~2.jpg 20180722_075012.jpg 20180722_074949.jpg

Ummmmm, part of todays stash pile.....Peyote Critical....Cant get a pic focused for shit tonight, sorry.....My closet runs on the higher temp end of ok....Despite a good exhaust, it does have a 1k light....But what I was going to comment on, are the purple hues....thats a new strain to me but to get decent purple WITHOUT the proverbial cooler night temps, is something that has eluded me for years....Its NOT listed as a purple strain but one of the donor plants is Peyote Purple....I can imagine what someone could get for color, IF they could lower their night temps....Every strain I tried that was a 'purple strain', never got purple....Even the GDP I had never got purple....LOL....I'm good luck challenged when it comes to getting that GREAT pheno in a seed group....I gotta work at it....
But, check out that Peyote Critical if looking for something new.....Easy grow too...YT
Give me a shoutout Gr33nmik3...let me know how its going.....YT...edit...added a clear pic of the peyote critical nugs.. 20180723_004900(1).jpg

  8. Since you cant see the cup/containers, cant tell how tall they are?...were you able to get some height out of them?.....Stretch is MOSTLY a strain characteristic.....Of course their health, pre-flower, plays a big roll too.....If they are not in a rapid, healthy veg stage, the stretch is minimal regardless of the strains NORMAL responses....If anything ever looks 'OFF', verify the pH and flush....that will reset things....Old saying with growers, When in doubt, flush them out....
Love to see you get away from soil...Too many quirks with it....Maybe a Coco Coir since it looks and feels like a soil mix if thats important to you....you would have SO MUCH more control over numbers....The pH is easy to manage, since you only need to set it in your water jug with a drain to waste system.....I could advise you of where your TDS (total dissolved solids) needs to be for their size along the way....Virtually fool proof.... That why simple hydro is so popular....Your veg rates will quadruple since hydro is so controllable.....The ONLY ppl that fail at 1st with hydro, is from either overwatering, the pH is off, or from over feeding....You know how to water and you understand pH....They only thing that will be different is learning the feeding rates....No feed, feed, flush, or feed, flush, feed, flush BS....Plants want a stable environment above and below ground....Feed EVERY watering but with the correct amts and they will THRIVE!!!!....You mother plants will bush out FAST...the turn around times significantly reduced...Tasty buds rolling in so fast, Your jar will always be full....YT

  9. Hey Gr33nMike, When I think of plantlets, I think of your flower box....This was one of some Incredible Bulk seeds I made about a yr ago...I wanted to sneak a small plant in this current crop to check out this plant for potential....This pic was today, which is day 28 of flower...my past experience was that the BEST I.B. phenos I had were too tall for my liking (3x stretchers)....LOVED the buzz...This plants had tight nodes as a seedling....it ended up with a little more than double in size for a stretch....THAT fits the parameters I like to run....For a 2 top plantlet, I still fed it the same nutrient mix my bigger plants are getting....So it got a mild tip burn but not enuf to worry about....Its an 8 week max flowerer....so for half way thru flower, IT IS showing some pretty good potential and may possibly EARN herself a big girl bucket in a future crop....We will see what she is when completed....I LOVE finding out that a seed I made produces a great phenotype...Lot more to look at before she makes the cut though....YT 20180724_201017.jpg 20180724_201051.jpg

  10. Half way there pics...day 31 of flower....still got another good 2 weeks of fattening up before they start ripening.....they are crusing along at 750ppm...the heavier feeding is over (1st 3-3.5 weeks of flower)...No stem or leaf production going on now, JUST BUDS.....In this system, 750ppms of a quality flower nute is all thats needed now, until nutrient reduction/elimination..I say 'this system', because your TDS levels has other factors to consider....System used, lighting intensity, type of nutes used, type of plants, co2/no co2, to mention some....Thats why is so important to choose a proven system, then learn it well...then choose a quality nutrient, and learn how to use those well.....Especially important for newer growers....Easy stuff, but stick to the basics, and they will grow.....YT 20180727_075816~2.jpg 20180727_075918~2.jpg 20180727_075935(1)(1)(1)~2.jpg 20180727_080054(1)(1).jpg

  11. Got my line-up for the next crop, almost ready for 1st topping....I have 1 extra cutting from that incredible bulk seeds plant I'm checking out...I will keep it going until I can sample that plant when its done....It actually is looking pretty good right now....
I have 8 more seeds on the way....I'm looking for a High yielding plant without sacrificing quality....An out of state grower friend has some Kong47 that is killing the yields....So, I figure I will give it a chance...Kong is a Ed Rosenthal Super Bud crossed with a Chronic....and of course the 47 is for AK47...A serious seeds AK 47 which is the best and the original...So, the Kong47 has some world class genetics....It also produces huge yields.....my current plants were from seeds this last crop and typically I would run about a yr before wanting to swap strains, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on the seeds.....With the quality and yields that strain has, ppl have wondered why it has not gotten more attention than it has......I can usually bring out the best a strain has to offer, so maybe I can help get its 15 minutes of fame...LOL....
Sounds like it would be a good plantlet for the flower box Gr33nMike....Nice to have something that gets a thick knots when doing micro grows....Depending on how fast they get here, they MAY make this next crop....I will only grow about 3 of them all the way out...I will crack all but only choose the best 2 or 3...grow space is precious and I wont dedicate a bucket unless the plant is 110% worthy...out of 8 seeds, that probably means 2 or 3....YT 20180728_004924.jpg

  12. Where is Gr33nMike???.....what happened my friend???.....nothing to report with the flower box?...I was hoping to see that box stuffed with buds....
The thread was down to like page 10 without activity.....I hate posting any of mine to share with you, if your not there anymore....I'm at 6 weeks of flower today...got some new Kong47 seeds a cpl days old now too....Cross of King Kong and AK47.....Kong is Chronic x Ed Rosenthals Super Bud, and then crossed with AK47....got some good genes going on in there......cpl pics if your still around...YT 20180804_200031~2.jpg 20180804_200102~2.jpg 20180804_200018(1)~2.jpg 20180804_195917(1).jpg 20180805_023522(1)~2(1)~2.jpg 20180806_222457~2(1).jpg 20180806_223110(1)~2.jpg

  13. Your plants look great

  14. Thanks BossHawk.....this is actually Gr33nMike's thread and I was watching the progress with his micro grow.....I always shared pics with him of what I had going on to possibly keep him motivated....have not heard any recent progress, but everyone has a life to manage before keeping forums up to date....But I appreciate the comment.....
I'm running what I call a modified Hempy bucket....the bottom cpl inches (where the internal rez is), has some type of grow rock...the type really doesnt matter...it helps the airstones (other modification) spread the bubbles better, and bubbles create many tiny voids in the water...those voids have to fill back in with water, and that creates a slow constant mixing in the rez pulling water back toward the stones....gives a more stable pH and of course is adding air to the water....ANY TIME roots are submerged in water, even a 2 inch deeps rez, dissolved oxygen helps them....It helps my veg rates CONSIDERABLY.....The original Hempy design does not call for a grow rock base, OR an air stone....I have done MANY crops both ways and airstones DO make a difference......I have also grown rockwool, drip systems, flood tables, DWC, Only to return to a drain to waste system....Hempy is a DTW system...It just has an internal rez so you can water less frequently....The basic DTW with drain holes in the container bottom, works as well, your just watering more often....Hydroponics is VERY simple stuff if ppl let it be.....And they dont fall for all the complex systems on the market that DONT work any better......SIMPLICITY RULES.....Works as well as any, with quality and yields to match....YT

  15. Whoa I didn't know that we'll Gr33nMike hope you give us an update!

Your method makes alot of sense..right now I am just doing bubble bucket hydro and temp have always played a big part in my res situation..did you start a journal you can link too

  16. I have a chiller on my shelf, pumps, plumbing fittings, all sorts of old system part and pcs...when I did water culture, temp WAS a big part of it.....getting lazy in my old age and a lot of systems have too much going on....One failure of part of a system can ruin everything...Not to mention the cleanup and re-setting up of some systems....
Dont get me wrong, there are many systems that grow good buds....the most important thing is understanding and perfecting the system you are using (AND YOUR NUTRIENT PROGRAM).....knowing how to use the nutes you choose is also HUGE.....Experience has taught me though, that the simpler the better....One of my strains will pull close to 40 jars (oz's) in a 4ft x 5ft space....At 20sqft, thats pulling close to 2 jars per sqft!!!!.....all about mastering YOUR OWN system.....
And no, I dont have an active journal right now.....I have been surfing a lot of beginner forums, trying to help newer growers avoid pitfalls....I was interested in what Gr33nMike had going on, and thats how I landed here....I may do journal next crop....I will be finishing up my current grow and replanting in about 3.5 weeks....
Since I use suchna simple approach now, I was considering doing it here in the absolute beginner forum....Maybe a lot of new growers will take the simple approach cause there is nothing difficult or technical about my system....ANY NEW GROWER who can CRUSH that 1st crop, will not only get highly motivated, But will realize that complex systems are not needed for amazing results...Like I said before, hydroponics is quite simple if ppl keep it simple.....New growers get quite intimidated when they see RDWC setups with chillers, plumbing, water pumps, etc....they need to realize that a simple DTW system will grow great buds.....the only technical thing is learning how to use a pH meter....LOL....YT

  17. Ahhh, there you are.....They are moving right along I see.....Dont be afraid to get any older shade leaves off them...especially lower ones.....By 3 weeks into flower, mine will only have the top 3 shade leaves left....I pluck the rest...ALWAYS plenty of secondary leaves as solar panels.....But it is hard to see how tall they are....helps get that light down into all the budding sites, and you want ALL the energy going into bud production now.....Glad to see your still working at it....Maybe I can talk you into doing a basic hydro set up next crop.....A LOT easier than soil, more predictable, full control over it, AND MUCH FASTER....I have no problem walking you thru it, IF you do...Simple drain to waste system so you can stuff your pantry with some jars....Pic of a plant from seeds that I made over a yr ago....2 stalk plantlet tucked btwn some big plants....Incredible Bulk...Was looking for a better pheno than the original seeds I bought....May have found it......getting some pretty pinkish lavenders....I will see how she smokes....YT 20180807_225452(1).jpg

  18. Quick pics...Already into flushing.....about a week to go of flush and finish ripening...I have reduced the light intensity to 50% (500w)....1000w pounding them is great for bud mass, but is NOT GOOD the last 10-14 days...It can actually start evaporating trich high on the plants...Less is better when they are ripening....CFL ppl and lower watt HID's are not a big concern....Even a 600w should at least be raised up higher, if not reduced...Dont worry, you bud mass is DONE already...its ALL ABOUT caring for your trichs at the end....
Also a pic of my Kong47 seedlings on day 10....Very homogeneous looking so far....I'm pretty hard on handling my seedlings and even picking seed 'husks' off any not throwing them fast enuf for me....very resilient strain so far....YT 20180814_032217(1)~2.jpg 20180815_195801~2(1).jpg 20180814_175407(1).jpg
