Anyone try an SOG grow with grow dots? Is it necessary to veg for 4 weeks with the grow dots before flowering, or can you flip to flower before the 4 weeks?
i would wait the whole 4 weeks so the roots are established before flipping any pictures? unless they matured fast with at least 4 nodes
Hey there sosogrow, thanks for stopping by! I have clones in 9 oz cups with established roots. Clones are between 6"-7" tall with 4-5 nodes on each. I want to put them in 1 gal containers, veg for 1 more week, then flip to flower. I'm just wondering, if I use grow dots, can I flower after 1 week of veg, or will the flowering nutrients not be released until after 4 weeks of veg?
Research it's probably on Google. You can switch to flower anytime but I don't know anything about the dots. As soso asked do you have any pictures? Good luck friend
Hey there Flannigan, I've done several Google searches but haven't been able to find if you can flip to flower in less than 4 weeks using the grow dots. I'll keep looking though. I was hoping someone on here might have some experience with the dots. Don't have any pictures right now, but I'll try to remember to take some tonight.
I have never used grow dots before but I would assume they are loaded with a more soluble form of nitrogen for up front and a less soluble from to cover the veg period and to go into the first couple weeks of flower. Just looking quickly over their site it looks like they dial them in for 4 week and 8 week veg depending on which ones you use. Running a shorter veg cycle will probably extend out how long there nitrogen is released into flower and with a fast strain may leave a little more nitrogen then is preferable for taste. I would see if you can find some grow journals using grow dots and running 12/12 from seed and see if their is any comments on that. Personally I would wait 2 weeks from transplant to reduce stress and if the seedlings are really root bound I may wait longer. Adding another week of time is really not that big of a deal when you look at the overall time frame and is going bump up yields giving them time to take root in their new home.
