I am looking to start growing within the next two months. I will be in an apartment so I decided to check out some grow boxes. I stumbled across pcgrowbox.com. (pcgrowbox dot com) I have a hard time choosing between the "sea of green grow box system" or the "strategy grow box system". I understand that these are expensive to buy pre-built and inexpensive to build your own. Though, I do not have the skills nor tools to build these boxes. And i figure whatever I would harvest would basically pay for the box. I am wanting to grow at least a quarter pound. Which box would allow me to do so?
Getting a qp off either until you master a strain would be a challenge. Maybe some high yielding autos could do it?
I would think so. Maybe the lowryder strain would allow for such a high yield. I have never grown before. I am actually in the process of gutting out an old pc in order to make a grow box. Though i would still like to purchase one from pcgrowbox.com
I agree if you don't have any experience with building, nor have the tools it is acceptable to buy a premade one, pricey but when you think of it, it's more convenient to do it this way because the cost of wood, new tools, screws, patching, sanding, lights, fans, that all adds up to being more expensive, especially if you have no experience. I would go with the grow Cabinet. What kind of grow are you trying to do?
I wanna grow at least 2-3 plants to start with. I never grown before and I dont want to mess up a lot of plants. A pc grow box sounds nice though the box pictured above is larger than the normal pc box. And now I am starting to think A grow cabinet would be a little over my head. What would you prefer for a first time gorwer who wants to grow at least an ounce or two?
if youre going to be buying something you misewell go big.. the cabinet will most likely stay with you for a while... and since youre trying to grow a qp then you are going to need the space... i would say go with the bigger one
I have a cabinet like the second one posted. It's designed to always have plants flowering and vegging. It's easily capable of pulling a QP every two months with the right growing methods.
What are the dimensions on that cabinet as a whole? And what are the dimensions of the vegging compartment? And last question, what kind of bulb in the veg compartment
The cabinet above is 69" H x 19" W x 25" L. The Box is \t\t36" H x \t\t18" D x \t\t \t\t26" W. If I was to use the box I would use the SoG grow method. I am leaning towards the box. I talked with the company that makes the box, and they told me with the SoG method I could yield 20-30 grams per plant. dry weight. Thats with growing 8 plants. \t\t
*extremely* over priced. Those boxes look like they have horrible ventilation and odor control. You are going to have to figure out a 4" ventilation system with carbon... The LED will really hurt your flowering capabilities. Always go for the taller box unless it's just for clones..
I don't like LED's either they are not up to the level of HPS or MH yet...and the rays are harmful to the eyes.
4" carbon filter is cake ... anterograde filter, panty hose, and activated carbon which you can get all from wallmart i think... if not a target and a pet store will work... but you can get a anterograde filter (its almost a cone looking thing and looks just like a basket for hydro type things) at 4" pretty easily i think... ill post a link once i find the thread on how to make it again... my bookmark times out every time ps sorry for block of text, fucked up and hittin the forum
Sure it's easy to go buy a filter or make one. All i'm saying is he's going to have to consider where he's going to put it, how much noise it's going to make and how much extra it's going to cost. TBH, I don't read many good reviews of people with these DIY filters. If he's going to spend a retarded amount of money on a $140 box and $10 fans he may as well buy a quality carbon filter.
do your research better... end of story... http://forum.grasscity.com/do-yourself/273604-small-carbon-filter-diy.html this one has good feedback... and if you still need more kill smelling power you can use an ONA bucket as well
LOL I've done my research.. I've read that thread very LITTLE feedback and results in that thread.. A filter of that design rarely work and if it does it's not for long.. ONA = don't waste your time. Experiment with active carbon till you get a filter that works for you.
