I am starting a build on a grow cabinet. the inside of my cabinet will roughly be able to fit a normal sized dresser inside of it and lined with mylar. I plan on using a 6 inch or 8 inch inline fan to pull air out of the box and put it through a carbon scrubber filter. Im wondering what light would be my best option, I want to produce the best highest quality bud I can. Is a 250w hps/mh fixture going to produce enough light, or would a 400w be a better idea? Also will I need a cooltube or something like that to pull air from the fixture too or should 1 fan be enough for the heat? I plan on going 4 plant hydro for this setup. Thanks for any help!
What size cabinet I am going to use a 250watt in a 3ft wide 2ft deep and 5ft high cabinet with a cool tube hps/mh set up just going to use a inline fan to pull the heat out should be good depends on size. If your about the same size as me then 400 might be a little to hot going to have to do some serious heat control.
is a 250 watt mh/hps light provide enough usable light to grow 4 plants? The dimensions of our cabinet sound about the same
I would defiantly go for the 400 or even a 600 if you are looking for good yields off 4 plants. As long as you can get rid of all the heat the more light/lumens the better OGMMJ.
Depending on the deminsions if your box, your air flow, and Mylar will be the answer to your heat problems. Additional cfls will only add to the heat when you don't need it. HID lights are made to emulate the sun as lose as possible, that should be the only light you need.
