Sorry haven't ben around a while been busy. To answer your question about non smelling plants. Look up Arjan's haze #3 it's a kick ass strain with very little smell. But a great smoke and for a Sativa dom actually grows quite small and bushy due to the way it was designed.
Hey guys I am back... I know I have been gone for a long time. Been hella busy with doc's and shit. Anyways update on Growbox. Here's what I did. I overcharged some T8's installed them into my box and 86ed the CFL's all together. They were causeing to much of aheat problem and light coverage was an issue. The (OC)T8's give out more lumens and way better coverage. Now as I am a first time grower I had a bad nutrient burn that almost killed my Arjan's haze#3 and Chemdog took a nasty hit too. Now AJ#3 is in flowering 1st week and Chem just started 12/12 yesterday. AJ#3 already showing bud formation and looking good from it's nutrient burn prob. I am buying a new tent soon 36"x36"x76" tent and gunna get a 400w MH/HPS settup .... Gunna 86 the home made box I got and slowly work into getting some nice tents and 400w systems settup. Overall cost is almost the same for material if I buy everything from amazon. Not sure if you know but you can have 6 plants flowering and 12 total. So that works out perfect if I do the 3'x3' grow tents for my spare room, I can fit 6 in there and 1 more 20" one in the closet for drying. But CitizenJ I know your a fan of the CFL man and I am sure you can grow quite well with it but if you wanna keep it simple and stay floural. I would recomend the overcharged T8's bro. They give out great light very low heat and use very little power for the area they cover. On a side not I did get a Carbon filter finally as my Chem was getting real stinky and stinking up the whole damn house. 1 4" 190cfm CF with filter combo from Amazon. Smell was gone by the end of the day. It literally scrubbed the entire room in 1 full days time. Hope to hear some feed back and hopefully I can answer any questions as I am learning a lot about growing.
Ok guys I am back. Gunna be posting new picts shortly..... I veged Chem under Overcharged T8's then finally got witht he program and got a 400w Digital ballast MH/HPS settup. Installed it and Explosion started. I will have picts posted with in a day or 2.
Like I said I will be posting picts for ya. And here you go. This is the door open with the new 400w hps on. Bright f**er. A closer look at that pretty lady A little Bud porn for ya. Can see them forming. This is a 3 week old from seed TrainWreck. She is in a DWC (Deep Water Culture) Hydro settup. 3 gallon res. And another shot to give ya an idea how fast this thing is growing. Remeber this is from seed. I know your prolly wondering what happened to AJ#3? Well here is something I hope I can help others with right now. On the web there is a lot of sights that give home made ways to drop ph and raise it. Well quite a few sites said the same thing on how to lower it. They all said use distilled vinegar. Well don't do that and for 1 main reason. Come to find out after A LOT of searching vinegar is used to kill plants. It has a natural tendency to suck the water from the leaves and prevent them from getting it. I lost Arjan to this, chaulk it up to novice growing. I have since saved Chemdog. Which is what u see in the picts and brought her back to life. Was 2 weeks into flower and ancor holding my old OC T8's broke and fell on my plant. Which split her right down the middle and took out 2 main stalks. Luckily I heard it and got up there to fix her. Cut off the major portion of the plant and revegged for another 3 weeks. And now this is what i got. So learned a couple things here I hope helps ppl. 1 Always check ur equipment 2 Always research to the ends of the earth to make sure you don't miss something 3 CD is a great begginers strain. Cause that bitch takes a licken and keeps on ticken.
Ty ty went through hell but recovered fairly well. Will be posting picts every week from here on out so ppl can see updates as it moves along. Those were 3 week picts (2 week CFL 1 week hps on Chemdog's flowering) will have more this friday.
Well it's week 4 and like I said here is the updates of the pictures. Chemdog week 4 flower 2nd week on the hps light. And Trainwreck week 4 from seed in my first ever attempt at Hydroponics. DWC settup. Well conclusion is DWC is the way to go. Very easy to maintain. Get everything set right and u can basically leave it for a few days at a time. I check my plants every day but If i had to i could easily leave the DWC for 4 days stright and really not have to worry. Only thing I have to watch is the water level. It drops about a gallon every 3 days. Other then that I only put nuts in once a week and that's it. Comment pls let me know what u think.
Useing a 4inch 190cfm fan and carbon filter combo for exhaust. Temps get around 85 to 87 degrees. Ventilation is fair and keeps kool enough. Have a 90cfm fan blowing in air in one 4inch port and another 4 inch port with a 120 cfm fan when the light is on to help kool thin gs off. So its working fine and it is defiantly helped growth a lot
Thought I would stop by and say hello to all those following my grow. And give a small update on how things are progressing. Chemdog doing very nicely. The plant is starting to immatate fall and some of the lower leaves have yellowed and fallen off. The bud and sugar leaves and most of the upper leaves look great though. She is 2' x 2' so not a huge plant but has a lot of bud sites as you can see. Now Trainwreck on the other hand is huge and really bushing out. I topped her several times already to get her to spred out. Got her in a closet atm with 6 CFL's above here and 3 t8's on 1 side of her. I turn her every other day to make sure that the lighting is even on both sides. I would post picts but I don't want to ruin the suprise for week 5 update picts. But this last feeding she got yellow tips I think I over fed her a little. Not the whole plant just some of it. Anyways I hope you enjoy the update and will have new picts this Friday for week 5 update of Chem and Trainwreck. Happy smoking.
Ok all you ppl out there watching here is week 5 Chemdog flower and week 5 Trainwreck Veg. Trainwreck week 5 little nutrient burn. Not a big deal just tried full strength last feeding and it didn't work. Cut back to half feeding and should remedy it. Chemdog Week 5 Looking good. Little smaller then I would like but I think a lot of that had to do that I didn't get my hps till 2 weeks into my flower stage. A little Bud Porn
Hello everyone how are you this beautiful friday. It is week 6 for my lady's week 6 flower for Chemmy and veg for Train. Train is looking great and getting really bushy. I measured them and they are almost exactly the same sq foot size atm. 4sq' not the largest plants but Train still has time to grow. She got to the same size as my chamdog in about 2 weeks less time. Oh yeah DWC for the win. Anyways on with the pictures. I am sure you want to see how they look. Trainwreck 6 weeks from seed Some clones from when I raised Trainwrecks skirt a little. There was no air flowing under her cause the foliage was to thick. I cleaned it up and got 3 nice clippings for clones outa it. The here is Chemdog week 6 flower... WARNING WARNING .... Week 7 Chem. I put Trainwreck in at week 6 so she has 1 week on her flower. Here is the pictures. Trainwreck and Chem dog in the same tent for now. I have 3 clones that took from the TW and I have to get the rest of my stuff in the mail to start them. The light played a little havoc on the color made Chemmy look borwn in that last pict lol.
