Hello, my names marshall and this is my first post on grasscity  I have just built a grow box and have decided to have my first grow! I prepared a small box for small starter plants. I will be expanding as soon as I've finished one or two harvests. I have seeds on the way and I just want to warn everyone, this is for small plants and small yield. I have a storage contained lined with tinfoil and two 120v Sylvania spot-gro bulbs hooked and wired out to plug into the wall, electrical tape seals the openings. Also there is a fan which runs two speeds and runs on batteries at the moment but I'll have two filtered PVC fans that plug in in a couple days. Also I'm getting rockwool cubes, jungle juice grow formula, making my own hydroponics system, using SOG since my plants can grow tall. By biggest issue is we tested the box with the lights on and the original fan on high and it got pretty hot after about 1 and a half hours. Also I don't know if my timer will work the way I want it to. I will include pictures, I'm looking for general advice on how to get this grow going and get everything grown, I'll take lots of pictures if this works out. Thanks for the help! Hi mate. Your lights aren't suitable for growing plants. Those are incandescent bulbs and just one 65w bulb puts out as much heat as a 125w CFL and about as much light as a 20w CFL. Get a refund if you can and buy some CFLs. As big a wattage as you can get and as many as you can get. You want at least 50 watts per square foot
