Grinding: all at once and early or as it comes up?

    Hey, everyone. I'm picking up a half-O sometime this week and I was just wondering that with my new grinder (including kief screen) should I grind the whole lot up at the same time so I can save all the kief separately and not have the annoying of carrying a whole lot of stuff with my whenever I want to toke, or will this make the bud deteriorate more over time? (I'm going away for a week on Sunday so there'll be at least a week's gap before I smoke it)

    If it makes any difference I keep my room pretty cool and keep my bud in a dark drawer in a rubber-sealed glass container.

    Thanks for any help! Sorry if this has been posted before - I did a search but couldn't find what I was after.

    it will dry out a bit quicker.. i prefer to grind up what i need and keep it all in nug.. but hey whatever you fancy :smoke:

    I dont usually grind it up, i just break it up with my hands, but i just break it off the nug as i need it.

    i've asked myself this same thing. i ground up a whole 1/8. thats the most i did... but the keif is worth it. does anyone else work the bud into the screen with their lighter? you get soo much more keif. i love that stuff. its like coke for stoners.

    yea grinind is amazinf, its like in bug from then twist twist twist and its all broken up

    Thanks for the advice, guys :) I think what I'm going to go is keep my buds in this big jam jar that I have and then grind it about a ten at a time? That idea with the lighter is quite cool, only thing is that wouldn't that mean the weed doesn't get you as high?

    I usually grind as it comes up. But if i end up grinding alot its real convenitn for just pinching a hit into a bowl.

    nah man. just work it for like 15 sec. if you look at the weed its still loaded with crystals and you get a buttload of keif. but what i do is pack a bowl with the weed and top it with a thick layer of keif. its one of the best bowls you'll ever smoke.

    Sounds good. The only kief I've smoked so far is what I've scraped outa my old grinder or my stash jar when I've been dry... Tends to go weed, kief, resin but of course that's when I would get about half a bowl every couple of months... I'm picking up on my street at 5 p.m tomorrow, can't wait.

    Well fi you play on rolling all your weed I would. Or I would grind up some and keep some nugs.

    If you grind it all now you may want to hit the bong sometime and uh oh.. No good sized nugs to cram in there.

    I've got a grinder question too. Hope Boffin doesn' t mind. :)


    If I'm rolling up some joints, do I just take a single nug, stem and all and just stick it in the grinder and turn it 2-3 times? When I close the grinder too, do I close it as much as I can even if that means crushing the nug?

    Yes definately grind as needed not all your bud, just save and accumulate your keif over mutliple scores, enough perhaps for 3 or 4 bowls :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :smoking: :eek:

    Yeah push and grind. Chuncky dro or dank burns uneven so yes smash, push ,twist, grind, roll ,smoke, pass ill take a hit thanks GB :smoking:

    ^^^ The first twist is always the most satisfying. It's like the opening act of a great play. lol!

    I picked up that half-o... Smells amazing, looks amazing but I still need to do the smoke-test! Definitely didn't get under-weighed =) I don't have a scale but holding it in my hand with a 1/2ounce weight (from kitchen balance) in the other it definitely weighed more. I so love my dealer! lol He's a good friend and he took the time to come all the way to my street... When he got there he even gave me a couple of his strawberry bonbons hah! I'm happy, sorry for the ramble.

    I usually grind up enough to fill a few blunts. If I need more ground bud, then I just grind some more. Never know when you are going to need that nug.
